    Beautifully calm
We went looking for a nice beach and found a fantastic one in Gerekas. You will need a vehicle of some sort to get there unless you're staying in the vassilikos area and are fairly fit enough to walk. There is free parking at the top and a short walk down to the beach. The ramp down to the beach is a bit worn but safe enough, and there are also a set of stairs. You immediately come to the sunbeded area at the bottom of the ramp,(don't know the price of the beds as we tend not to use them), the sand is beautifully soft and golden, and the sea crystal clear, and calm with very small waves lapping on the shore on the times we visited. The sunbeded area tended to get quite busy with families and kids, so we walked towards the left of the beach as you look at the sea and headed towards the lifeguard tower. This area is a lot quieter and just after the tower you have an area for nudists, much quieter in this area and chilled. It was funny watching people stumble into the nudist area, panic have a quick chat and then return to the sunbeded area. If you like snorkeling the area by the rocks and at the nudist end was great for seeing lots of fish, and due to the sea being calm you don't have to worry about being pushed onto the rocks. The sea wasn't too deep either, I went out about 25m from the shore and the sea was still warm and up to my chest(I'm 5'11"). We came back over a few days to this beach as it was so peaceful. We'll definitely return again at a later date.

    Stunning. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful beach. Great walks around it too. Stunning natural formations. Clear water. We went off season so the beach was quiet. Good facilities at the nearby turtle rescue centre.

Utterly blissful. Sandy, serene, unspoilt and not commercialised. One of andy
Utterly blissful. Not commercialised. One of my 2 favourite sandy beaches on the planet. The other is Holkam Beach, Norfolk, England. Turtles lay their eggs on the beach at night in shallow underground nests. These are marked off with small wooden frames, and visitors are respectfully asked to keep their distance, which I strongly suspect people universally do. Whilst not commercialised, there are some twin loungers and umbrella; available for hire for €20. PARKING: There is a large, free car park nearby, and even some with covers from the sun. I went mid May. I have no idea if the parking would be sufficient in high season. I hope so. It would be a shame if the beach became packed with human sardines on the beach, destroying the natural tranquility. I suspect it does retains its serenity, as the beach is in quite a remote area of the island, and there are no bars, ice cream sales or shop on the beach. There is also no litter. Yippee! The nearby turtle sanctuary is a bit of a let down, frankly. It does have an attractive bar, restaurant and shop, and hey, if it helps save turtles, I'm all for it. There's also a pleasant taverna immediately next door.

    A delight!
20 euros for 2 sunbeds on an afternoon visit seemed reasonable, as very easy to access from free car park, minutes away by foot. Such a clean, beautiful, sparkling beach in a nature reserve/protected area. Swimming there was divine. Best beach we visited on Zakynthos.

    Turtle beach, fun time
The sea is very shallow but when you go into it there is a lot of rock but after a few meters they go away and its just sand. is very It was very expensive for sun beds to be exact 30 euros. The beach is partially rocky but there is a lot of sand. You need to fill the hole back in if you dig a hole because there is sea turtles that lay their eggs on the sand, the lifeguards seem nice. To get to the beach there is a ramp that is very steep it might take a while to get down with a pram or a wheelchair. If you go up from the ramp and up the street their is a building where you can see the sea turtles that have gotten injured or couldn’t get to the sea and how this happens and how to prevent it, it is also free of charge and in there you can go to the showers and wash the sand of you, overall a good beach for a few hours out.

    Turtle Conservation Beach
Beautiful pebble and sand beach and I can understand why the turtles like it. The sunbeds & parasol are expensive (40 Euros) but the money goes to turtle conservation so look on it as a charity donation rather than a charge. The water is beautifully clear and although we didn't see any turtles there were plenty of little fishes swimming around. Please stay away from the turtle nest sites and take all your litter away with you so that this beach stays the gem it undoubtedly is.

We came to the beach knowing we have to walk from the parking lot to the beach. Ariving here we had a very Nice View from the cliffs, saw the blue water and the sand. There are only 60 umbrellas with sunbeds on this beach, so be prepared to look insistenly for one. The price we paid for 4 people was 30 euros for all day (20 for 3 hours). There are no facilites in the beach, perhaps due to the fact that the area is protected. There are no showers nearby and no toilets so you must walk for a few minutes to reach the shop or the taverna close to the parking lot to have a decent place to use the restroom. Many families with children, very loud, so If you are looking for a peaceful place to enjoy the sun and read, this is not the place. You can go snorkeling and see some small fish, but nothing else.

Stop tourists being exploited 30 euro for 2 crappy sunbeds and a umbrella is not acceptable. We reluctantly paid but we were only charged 10 euro for the same at the end of May. If we come again we will just put a towel down and avoid the extortionate pricing. No prices are displayed and no receipts given if paying cash.
The sandy beach is lovely and the sea is great for swimming.

Firstly the big negative -
Sunbed prices. They start at €30 going to €50 for a decent bed on the front row of the beach. The miserable attendants are incredibly strict if you only book a 3hr slot as they will kick you off the bed. There are NO facilities at all on the beach. It is an uphill march of 10 mins to the restaurant above the beach.

Secondly the positives -
The water is shallow, which is great if you have kids or water anxiety adults. There is plenty of free parking. A nice restaurant and shop

Wonderful beach and just for it I would judge with 5 stars but the people that is renting the umbrellas and chairs are very rude and not emphatic. They asked me 30 euro (on july 1st) for 2 chairs and an umbrella, then a second man accepted to give me 4 chairs at the same price.. But when he saw that we had enogh money in our pockets.. He increased to 40 euro his offer. I took the 2 chairs only. After few hours the umbrella on the sea front line was free and I asked if possible to change my place from the second to the first line (because I had 2 kids and it would have been easier for me to look at them). He denied and asked me what is the difference.. Unbelievable.. After 10 minutes he rent the place at 15 euro (at 14.45 pm) with 3 beds to other people..

The beach is a very cosy place to stay It ahs no bars, tarvenas, music or any kind of distraction wich is preffered by some. I'll say is a place for reading, relaxation and some quiet time. The water is no deep and the sand is a reddish color and very soft. The sunbeds are 10 euros per person for a full day but they are very confortable and the person working there is very nice trying to please every customer. Be aware of the nudist area, there is no sign that shows where it starts. However, you can't see very good there from the sunbed area so it's ok for kids.

Lovely beach where the turtles nest(area roped off)but 2 sun beds & brolly are an absolute rip off at €20 for 3 hours or €30 for all day and they are rusty & of poor quality. There isn’t enough to go round either so if your not there early you won’t get any. There is no other shade on the beach either. Lots of families very disappointed and ended up wandering about looking for beds before having to leave due to no beds, brollies or shade. Shame because it’s a lovely beach to visit but avoid at all costs as a complete rip off unless all the proceeds go the protection of the turtles but I doubt it. Go to Kalamaki or elsewhere where 2 beds & brolly are €10 all day.

Sun bed and umbrella hire is 20euro for 3 hours…compared to other beaches this is really expensive. Most are 10euros all day.

Beach is very busy and due to the protection of the turtles (fair enough), most of the beach is not available, which makes the beach feel overcrowded.

There are plenty of other beaches in Zakinthos that are more beautiful than this one…such as Keri beach…

This beach visit was disappointing as it’s nothing special

AVOID. They wanted to charge 20 euros for 3 hours and 30 euros for the day (2 sun beds + umbrella). And the sun beds were poor quality. It was a straight no from us…shame on them for being so greedy.
We headed to the far superior Dafni beach instead - 6 euros for the full day & much more pleasant surroundings.

Beautiful beach within the Zakynthos marine park. Fantastic, shallow water, very fine sand.
I gave a low score because I don't agree with the opening of a sea turtle nesting beach to such a high number of tourists. There are rules and opening hours (from 7am to sunset), but no one who enforces them. The equipped part has few umbrellas (with prices much higher than average), but in the free part everyone can plant their own even a few centimeters from a nest. We would need to rethink how to make access to this beautiful marine park more accessible and sustainable.

Great beach, one of the best in the island, with good prices (probably coz of the virus impact) as for 10 EUR we had an umbrella and 2 sunbeds (i ve seen comments of previous years saying it was more expensive with a timelimit which its hilarious!! People working there were very friendly and very happy to assist us in finding a sunbed and beach was really good (similar to the rest of the ones we ve seen in vasilikos (dont understand the overexcitement for this particular one).

However, the bar working on top of the beach has a really weird guy on its bar, looking very strange at you while entering his facilities. Cant explain it but he was very awkard.
