About
Lined with beach bars blasting dance music, Banana Beach is popular with the younger crowd. You can play volleyball, go jet skiing, or try parasailing. The sandy beach is spacious—travelers looking to lounge and sunbathe can rent a sunbed and an umbrella and sip cocktails all day long. Keep your receipt to ride the bus back to Zakynthos town for free. The water is nice and clear but can get a little choppy at times. Good news for drivers: you can park in the shade for free. – Tripadvisor

- Georginga74 contributionsBeautiful beach, friendly staffWe used the pick up service which collect us at 9:40. To return back on the bus we needed a receipt from the casa playa bar/restaurant, but that was easy. The staff were so friendly and food delicious and not over priced. We didn’t feel rushed to vacate our chairs, nor was there any pressure to order desserts/coffees etc. Just pleasure to go there really!Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 21, 2023
- hayles1982Bala, United Kingdom38 contributionsBeach day with familyWent here during our holiday. Really lovely beach, waited on by the very hard working staff. Prices were reasonable and food portions very generous. Lovely sandy beach with beautiful blue clear water. Sun loungers were lovely and comfy, also reasonable price. Not far to walk to and from car park. Ideal spot for families for a beach day.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 30, 2023
- psneddoDumfries, United Kingdom92 contributionsTrip to the beach!Hi we travelled here on the free yellow bus from Argassi. Beach nice, sea a bit pebbly as you enter, beach shoes are a good idea. Need to pay for loungers, closer to sea more expensive, 12 euro for back row. Had food at restaurant, was nice.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 1, 2023
- SerenCardiff, United Kingdom43 contributionsGreat beach, fun day out to relax, drink, eat and listen to good musicThis was my third visit. The previous times being 2018 and 2019 and I can confirm that this third visit met my expectations. I got picked up on the complimentary bus at the ‘Why Not’ bar on Kalamaki strip (information from excursion providers as to times and location pick ups of the bus is limited so I found the information on the banana beach website). 2x sunbed and umbrella was $12 for the back rows (orange beds), perfect location no need to go closer if you’re watching your spending. Beach is spotless and clean although rocky to get into water, music is such a vibe (party/house music), staff are attentive and friendly. Drinks and food reasonable price and comparable to the increase in alcohol in Zante anyway. Food was tasty and plenty of options. As long as you spend money at the beach on water sports, sunbeds or restaurant you will not have to pay for the bus. I would recommended making your way back to the bus stop 30 mins before pick up time as there was limited seats and many people standing on way back.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 10, 2024
- Diana AntonovaEpidavros, Greece30 contributionsOkWe liked this beach very much but for us is a 4star beach because there is nothing special about this beach. Although, we liked the Banana Baya cafe bar restaurant very much. The service was great as well as food. For the set of sun-beds we payed 30€Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 16, 2024
- Sarah D6 contributionsA fun family day in the sunshineWe visited the beach with our 4 year old daughter and had a great time. The beach is busy, but it didn’t feel crowded; there was plenty of space. We paid for the sun loungers which were great. There are QR codes on the middle tables so food and drink could be ordered from the banana beach bar. The sea is perfect for younger children too. It’s pretty shallow for quite a way with a sandbar maybe 15-20m out. There were water sports though we didn’t try those. There was an exclusion zone around swimmers and I felt safe as I swam pretty far out.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 21, 2024

Friday 16th July we visited this popular beach on the southeastern coast of the Island, on the Vassilikos peninsula
It is one of a number of beaches that run along this coastline. It is just under two kilometres from the village of Vasilikos.
The beach with it's golden sand and shallow waters is located within a bay enclosed by a rocky headland at both ends.
Orderly rows upon rows of sunbeds and static umbrellas line the beach, they were available to rent and prices ranged from €8 to €20, depending on the quality of the beds
Wooden slatted walkways along the beach made it easier to walk along the beach and avoid the hot sand.
There was space on the beach to spread out towels and beach mats, however, not overly welcoming.
There was a sign which stated that only food and drinks purchased at the bar were permitted, all a bit too controlled. So not a place to visit to sit on the beach and enjoy a picnic.
Sadly it is totally overly commercialised, take into account the rental of the sunbeds, food & drinks and maybe some watersports, a visit here has the potential to be expensive.
The access to the beach is gated so is closed in the evenings, as stated earlier all controlled.

Transportation was free to go and back, but from Argassi bus didn't stop to Legend of Mimosa, it stopped at bus stop (near minigolf).
Really long beach with soft sand.
There are many sunbeds, which you can rent about 10-15 euroa.
Clear water.
Many watersports.
You can order drinks and food easily (we ordered from Casa Playa). Friendly staff.

Me and my friend visited this beach and lounged at the Casa Playa Beach Bar and Restaurant. This place is very clearly a tourist trap. The buses only run every few hours, and although they are free, the driver was pretty rude. Not to mention once you get there you have to stay until the buses run back which seems to be at only one particular time. The Casa Playa Beach Bar is relatively expensive for what it is… the food and service were not great. The water is very pretty but the overall vibes of the place were really weird. Sort of felt like a man-made stimulation of a beach. Would not visit again and would not recommend.

Nice beach and many types of umbrellas and chezlongs.
The price for two chezlongs with an umbrella was 18 euros. There is music, a beach bar from where u can order drinks and also on the beach a voleyball terrain.
We liked the visit there.

The beach was ok, but not worth the cab fares when there was no sign of a free banana bus. Waited 2 hrs for the bus then shared a people mover with another couple for 25 euros. Coming back - still no sign of this free bus, so we booked a cab & a people mover turned up with passengers already in. He charged us 20 euros each. So 40euros for a 15 min drive - complete rip off.
Banana beach was nice but with the sunbeds, umbrella & cab fares a bloody expensive way to spend the day on a beach.

We spent 3 of our 6 days at this beach which has everything you would need to enjoy time at the beach. The sandy beach and spacing of beach beds was perfect, and certainly Covid compliant. Excellent bar and food service on the beach, but also the option to eat outdoors in the shade up at the restaurant. Food very fresh, large portions and reasonably priced. Free car parking under shading, shallow sea on entry which gets gradually deeper, so perfect for both young children and adults. You are spoilt for choice here, and like us will return time and time again!

You have to follow the signs for banana beach - often with a sign for a restaurant/ bar, we chose the one that said water sports near the end of the beach. Lots of car parking and most under cover - which was great. The walk way was boarded which was great to walk on.
We didn’t want to use a sun bed and brought our own towels and umbrella to use. There was plenty of sand between the bars/restaurants and it wasn’t too crowded which meant we had our own space.
We have younger children and the beach was great for digging and playing in but the water got deep pretty quickly which wasn’t the safest for our little one. The bars had 90’s house music playing - which took us back to our youth but not our vibe. It had lots of 20 year olds, playing music, football / games on the sand, being loud, smoking, swearing and lots of loud water sports activities.
It didn’t suit us for our needs but might be right up other peoples street.

Great huge beach with free parking. Sunbeds run by the beach bar that provide drinks and food ordered and served to your bed. With a range of sunbeds from front line posh ones at 25 Euros for two, line two and three 20E, back line 10E. Lovely gently shelving beach.

Banana beach is an arid, sandy beach, where the beach chairs are divided by price, first of all from the sea costing 40 euros, then 30, 15, etc. The sea is smooth, sandy, not deep at all. The tip is to stay by the sea, where your brain doesn't boil.

Buongiorno,
quanto costa due lettini in prima fila ?

How much are the sun beds / hammocks?
Written September 11, 2019
Hi! The sunbeds vary in price depending on location to the sea. I think the front ones were €10 for two and an umbrella and the back ones were €5. Sorry I didn’t make a note of it. They also had double bed loungers that were more expensive again. This was in high season (August).

Hi are there any toilets there? Cheers
Written July 20, 2019
There was no toilets on the beach itselft at least on the spot we were on, but there was a toilet on the restaurant just next to the beach.

Can you take your own food to banana beach?
Written July 17, 2019
Yes you can although if you get the free yellow Banana Beach bus you are expected to eat at the taverna bar situated at the beach. Talking about the free bus it is like a cattle market getting on it at the end of your stay. My daughter x I and another couple were first in the queue but when the bus arrived we were shoved x pushed and ended up last on the bus. We would certainly not go again on the free bus.
