Cool experience, the best guide

We booked a 2 days safari for Tsavo East, having selected Marco Polo Safaris based on the recommendation from our hotel. Marco was very responsive and helpful in terms of supporting information about the safari options, pricing, etc.
The only hiccup we faced was a bit of nuisance with the $ to KESH conversion rate, having chosen to pay cash, so would recommend you to either have the amount in $ readily available or pay by card.
From that point onwards everything went smoothly and great, I believe we got the best guide there is - Mike, once again thanks a ton for making us feel so comfortable, listening to our every wish and need and for the amazing game driving! We have chosen the open jeep for transportation and that was for the best, very clean, bottled water at our service, best views secured. Same for the accommodation, we spent the night at Sentrim and really enjoyed the room, dinner and most of all the view from the open restaurant overlooking the wild animals surrounding the nearby waterhole.
In a nutshell this safari has been the highlight of our short trip to Kenya and complimented really nicely our stay at the beach in Diani, I would highly recommend it.

National Marine Park daytrip from Diani

Marco from Marco Polo Safaris organised a very nice day trip to Wasini Island, snorkelling in the National Marine Park and back for a reasonable cost. Lovely young people from the Wasini Island community operated the boats with skill and experience and the atmosphere was very nice, ending with a sing-song and drumming on the way back. I would recommend this tour operator and the location for a day trip for sure if you are into marine life and outdoor.

Enjoyed the great migration at Masai Mara

We did a 5 Days Masai Mara Safari to see the great migration. Our driver Adam was a fine and safe driver who had the perfect hunting instinct for spotting rare animals and sights, a genuine respect for the animals giving them space (meaning not speeding off-road up to a meter of a hunting leopard ousting his prey, like we saw some other drivers doing) while still enabling us to take amazing shots and close up observations. We enjoyed a hot air balloon experience which is an absolute must if you have the possibility, and stayed at the Fig tree which was nice but overpriced. The trip including transfers and domestic flight was well organized and accompanied by Marco Polo Safaris. one minor hiccup where another driver did not show up in time for a transfer was solved in a professional and friendly way.

8 day Safari

We did an 8 day safari going through Masi Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli and Tsavo East. We were picked up from Nairobi airport and then started the Safari, ending on the coast at Diani Beach where we spend a few nights before flying back to Nairobi.
We booked with Marco via their website and confirmed all the details over email and whatsapp. Marco was very helpful and answered all our questions (we also requested a cycle trip at Hells Gate which Marco arranged for us). We paid a 50% deposit by bank transfer and the balance was paid to the driver at the start of the safari in USD cash. The reason for the cash payment is because it is needed to pay the park and lodge fees (this is normal practice).
The safari itself was amazing, we travelled and did the game drives in a large jeep where the roof can be risen allowing you to stand up and get a 360 view of all the animals around you. We saw the big five and many many more animals.
Our driver was called Michael and was wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals, parks and landscapes. He is also well connected with the other game drivers and they work together to find the animals so you have the best chance of seeing them. We visited 5 different parks which meant a lot of different terrains and weather conditions, Michael knew all the parks well (which is not very common as most drivers only go to 1 or 2 parks). He is also a skilled driver in terms of managing the different weather conditions so we always felt very safe.
The accommodation Marco arranged was all very nice and luxurious (mainly tented camps and lodges), we felt very spoilt!
We went go to Diani Beach Marco also helped us with arranging a snorkeling trip.
I cannot recommend Marco and Michael enough, our safari trip was perfectly organised and such an amazing experience.

Best experience ever

We had a tailor made trip to Lake Naivasha and Massi Mara followed by a week at Diani Beach We were met from the airport and every step of the way had an escort and private vehicle with Michael our driver who was lovely. The lodges we stayed in organised by Marco Polo were exceptional. Marco was very patient whilst we settled on a full itinerary and probably sent about 50 emails until we had it exactly as we wanted and a perfect holiday. Can highly recommend.

Fantastic Experience

Great trip organized by Marco! We saw all the wild animals and even more than we expected. Also, Marco booked us in a good hotel. I can recommend Voi here, as a person from our van went to "simba" which was way worse. Voi had a great restaurant just at the edge of the park where animals were always coming to drink water, and we could admire them even when not on the game drive. We even saw hyenas there.

The driver was just great, maybe the guide could talk more about he animals and their behavior on his own, but when we asked, he definitely had the knowledge.

Safari to never forget

This was very good value for money;
We got very lucky on the safari and saw absolutely everything.
The vehicle was well up to the task of safari, and they grouped us with people the same age.
Our driver Abdul was very knowledgable and friendly, he knew everything there was to know about most animals, and if he wasn't sure or we asked an unexpected question, he would check for us on his phone.

He stopped at a local village on the way upon our request, so we could see the non-tourist kenya, and we always felt very safe.

We will return for trips during our honeymoon, since our trip was cut short due to the covid-19 pandemic, and we can only recommend you to try their services too.

The most interesting holiday we ever had

I really recommend Marco Polo Safaris, they were with us in July 2021. They were flexible, so our itinerary was based exactly on what we wanted to visit. We started from Nairobi (pick up from the airport) and finished in Diani Beach (drop off at our beach hotel). On the way we visited Masai Mara (1 night), Lake Nakuru (1 night), Amboseli National Park (1 night) and Tsavo East (1 night). Our driver (Michael) who was also our guide was the best! He really knew how to look for wild animals (we saw all the big five and more) and he always stayed with us during the safari, which made us feel safe. I hope this review helps you to choose Marco Polo Safaris, you won’t regret it! :)

Breathtaking 7-Day Safari

Our safari was absolutely amazing. We visited the national parks Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli as well as Tsavo West and East. Each national park is unique and thus worth seeing. Also the lodges differed, especially the Fig Tree Camp in Masai Mara and the Sentrim in Tsavo East that are located nearby a waterhole were outstanding. It was fun to observe elephants, hippos and crocodiles in front of our rooms and the restaurant. The food was fresh and tasty at each location!
Our driver Sammy was a very nice person - kind, funny, punctual. He has some really great driving skills and was able to name all the animals we have seen (even in different languages) and could tell us a lot about their behaviour.
We booked the private jeep safari months before travelling via e-mail. Marco has always responded quickly and adapted the tour to our preferences.
All in all we were very pleased with our trip and we can totally recommend choosing Marco Polo Safaris as the safari provider.

We booked a 1-day safari. First good impression. Our driver was there before time and handed over some cool water bottles.

Since there were two of us with Amos, we had the pleasure of a private safari. Other providers cancel here partly with too few participants.

As it turned out later, our driver Amos was really great. Not only did he track down and expertly describe more animals during the safari, he was also there when our vehicle had a flat tire and was able to repair it expertly and quickly. In the meantime, we spoke on the phone with Marco, who, as the head of the travel agency, proactively inquired about our well-being and apologized for the inconvenience. Very well done!

All around a nice day with good experiences.
