Pilli Pipa is an accredited PADI Dive Resort under the name of Firefly Ocean Camp, registration number s22994. We have up to date diving equipment which is replaced regularly. We have excellent dive gear imported and replaced regularly. Contrary to what one reviewer, Roadsmoretravelled, November/December 2013, has falsely put on a review. He did not come on our dhow but was probably told by the Shimoni hotel he stayed at that he was going with Pilli Pipa. We do not dive in 1 or 2 metres of water and we do not have shocking equipment.

If you want a wonderful diving experience with professionals, book with Harm Lutjeboer, Pilli Pipa Dhow Safari, PADI and Naui registered, dive base, Firefly Ocean Camp in Shimoni. Not based at Shimoni Reef Lodge.

We also take snorkellers to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park for an exciting adventure followed by lunch at Pilli Pipa on Wasini Island.

Completely worth it all - I had a 5 star top notch day! The drive there is a smidge long but Eddie our driver very nicely gave us info along the way which passed the time very nicely. The schlep out in the boat was choppy that morning and I was a bit nauseated even with zofran. We did see... More

The standard snorkelling trip is a full day out with pick up from your hotel (at Diani) at around 7:30, an hour or so's drive to the vicinity of Wasini Island and then another hour on the dhow to the first snorkelling/dive site. After a few hours at 2 sites there is lunch on Wasini Island before the return journey... More

Dear Steve Thank you for your comments. Our trip probably does appear to be expensive to some people but this is out of our control unfortunately. We pay US$ 20 per adult per day or US$15 per child aged 3 years and over, to Kenya Wildlife Services in Shimoni for conservation fees for a couple of hours in an area... More

This is an amazing day out. We saw dolphins, went snorkelling twice and had an amazing lunch at a small island. Don't forget to put sun cream before snorkelling both times (my boyfriend got seriously sunburned in his back).

I booked this mainly for my 10 year old son who loves swimming and wanted to try snorkelling. The staff were amazing and helped him all the way ensuring he had a brilliant first go - he now wants to try scuba diving! We saw dolphins who came close enough to my son while he was snorkelling that he could... More

My husband and I had a great time on this tour. First time snorkeling so we were a little nervous but the guides were knowledgable and made us feel very comfortable. We also had a great meal provided by the staff.

This trip is fantastic! The staff are very professional and knowledgeable about all the sea creatures. The transport picks you up early, you get to the boat, a quick briefing and then you're off. There are 2 snorkelling sites and more often than not your boat is accompanied by dolphins swimming alongside!! We were lucky enough on one trip to... More

We went on this excursion as a treat for our children to swim with dolphins , we were told this might not be possible and I accepted the trip on those terms ,we did see dolphins but never got the chance however the snorkelling allowed the children to see octopus, starfish and marine life on its natural habitat , the... This trip is really awesome one full day out where you travel, cruise, see dolphins and other aquatic animals, dinner sumptuously, visit a natural cave managed by the local for their social welfare economical needs.
