Pilli Pipa is an accredited PADI Dive Resort under the name of Firefly Ocean Camp, registration number s22994. We have up to date diving equipment which is replaced regularly. We have excellent dive gear imported and replaced regularly. Contrary to what one reviewer, Roadsmoretravelled, November/December 2013, has falsely put on a review. He did not come on our dhow but was probably told by the Shimoni hotel he stayed at that he was going with Pilli Pipa. We do not dive in 1 or 2 metres of water and we do not have shocking equipment.

If you want a wonderful diving experience with professionals, book with Harm Lutjeboer, Pilli Pipa Dhow Safari, PADI and Naui registered, dive base, Firefly Ocean Camp in Shimoni. Not based at Shimoni Reef Lodge.

We also take snorkellers to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park for an exciting adventure followed by lunch at Pilli Pipa on Wasini Island.

A very professionally run outfit who have two quite large dhows (with engines!). They offer both divers and snorkelers two sessions one of 1 hour and the other 45 minutes duration followed by a nice lunch (included) on an island (Wasini). They even cater for very weak swimmers who hang onto a ring and are towed around by a guide... More

I booked a snorkling tour with Pilli Pipa and it was fantastic. I was picked up from Diani and was driven to Shimoni (drive took 1,5h). We got on the boat and then we set off to the reefs close to Wasini island. We had a whole crew and the guides were very friendly, informative and helpful. I really enjoyed... More

Thank you so much Orphius. Glad to see that you had the chance to swim with dolphins in the wild, a wonderful experience. It has been great weather for snorkelling lately but we are hoping for some rain soon. More

We really enjoyed our experience with pilli pipa snorkeling. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. After a short car ride with a friendly driver we made it to our boat where we were given refreshments. When we got to the snorkeling, they provided equipment and how to use it, we were given life vests and there was always someone with... More

We went snorkeling with Pilli Pipa back in November and were extremely pleased with the entire experience. What especially stood out to me was how accommodating and patient the guides were with our small children. It was my then 5-year-old's first time snorkeling and our guide was so helpful and patient, which made it so fun for him! My daughter,... More

The people at pillipipa are really doing a tremendous job! From pick-up till drop, everything was just perfect and we had a great time from the very beginning, thanks to our fab driver Titus! Had a lot of fun cracking jokes with the crew of the dhow who seriously walk the extra mile to making everybody feel comfortable. Saw dolphins... More

We loved our day out on the Dhow, excellent snorkeling very caring staff and super lunch. We saw a great variety of very well preserved coral and lots of fish in the sea, including a turtle which was a bonus. Proof that marine reserves are very necessary in our world to preserve nature. I would definitely recommend using Pilli Pipa... More

We loved everything about the snorkeling and the people but what we didn't like is that they charged me a full price when one of my sons got sick in the morning and my wife had to stay with him at the resort. The management and ownership did not care at all and charged us for the full price for... More

Hello Ramin, thank you for your comments about Pilli Pipa. We hired a bus especially for your family of 2 + 2 as your resort is quite a long way off the main Lunga Lunga Road as you know. Upon arrival the driver was told there would now only be 1+1. If we had been told the evening before or... More
