An amazing day full day (10 jam packed hours!). Massive thank you to our tour guide (Spiros) and to the helpful team which set up our trip. Very well organised and stress free, couldn't have been better. We saw so much of the island with the most incredible photo stops, lots of history and information was provided along with a full day of entertainment. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Zakynthos!

Me, my husband and another couple from our hotel choose to rent a boat with a skipper(captain) to take us around the island. I will start with the beginning, I discussed with one of the twins bosses of the company regarding aspects of rental. He suggested that he can “teach” my husband to drive the boat in 20 minutes as is easy. My husband was tempted at the beginning, but we said NO as we never know how the sea can be, concerns regarding safety and if the boat will be damaged or they can say we damaged the boat. And choosing a captain that was a wise decision. We discussed the price aspect: 150€ for rent the boat, 50€ for the captain and between 80€-120€ maximum 130€ if we go around the island. That means 3 tanks of fuel x 30 litres = 90 litres of fuel. The trip was awesome, the captain Zakiti (equal to Peter in English) was nice and very professional, the views spectacular. He made stoops in beautiful spots of the island, nice caves, swimming spots as well. No turtles at this time of the year, just a lost poor turtle and we were happy to see her. The boat in my opinion is perfect for no more than 4 people plus captain. The waves can be challenging at times as you distance from shoreline, but we been lucky with our captain and that the sea was calm. After 10 minutes since we started the trip, the boat stopped to refuelling, the captains said something that the first tank was not fully filled. But we were excited and we skipped over the moment. The surprise came at the end: fuel cost. One of the twins came and tell us that “the fuel costs 175€ because we been around the island and because the waves wear big and the consumption was big”. And that someone came to bring another tank when we stopped to eat at a very expensive taverna where spaghetti with sea food was 24€. The taverna is Miknos or something like that, the food prices are overpriced, but the view is stunning and I think part of the food price is the view. So, one of the brothers said that someone bring when we were eating another 30 litres of fuel; Lies, as the captain never mentioned this and we never saw nobody to came to our boat. As we were shocked, all my words stopped in my neck, we did not checked how much fuel was in the tanks prior to departure and was no point to check at the end of the trip, as we did not have a start point. And we were unable to prove nothing. I made a joke at that point let them understand that we are not stupid and we realised that we have been cheated, ripped off. As our travel companions were from UK and they did not understand what I mean by robbed, as is in their genuine nature and in their culture to be honest one to another and trustable, I gave up at that point from respect for them. But I needed to have the last word, so I returned to them to have a discussion with the twins next day. But I met their mum, a genuine nice lady that told me she built the business from scratch and handover to the sons. I told the lady that she needs to be careful as she will lose the business if they carry on like that, that this events will bring bad image to company. The lady intended to pay me back several times, 30€ -40€ as she can’t sleep if I don’t take the money. I felt sorry for her as she could be my mum. I refused to take the money as I could see shame in her eyes and told her that a hug is enough. And I hugged her. BUT that I need to have a word with the sons, which I was lucky enough to met one of them. Looking in his eyes I made him understand that I am not stupid, I can smell when people try to take advantage and overprice the services. He was pathetic at one point, trying to convince me in so many ways ( waves, weight of the boat with all the people in, number of people in the boat), that the fuel consumption went high and the price was right, unfortunately without success. He asked me what I want, if I want money back, I looked in his eye and I asked him “why does he think I am here in front of him today?”. I asked him just to be honest from now on, nothing more. I refused to take back any money. This was our experience with positives and negatives.

Thank you for your comment! We keep your good experience on the sea and we will be more informative for the max fuel consumption! For sure we don't like misunderstandings like that. So we also inform our future guests that they like to rent a private motorboat to sail all around Zakynthos island....... that fuel consumption can be 150 euros or 175 euros or more (depending on weight/participants-miles/sea condition/how fast you like to drive). We buy that fuel and is not a profit for us! And we try everyday (all the team captains guides sellers) for clean promises and the best experience of our guests! Best wishes for you and we wait you back for a complimentary service! We like you to stay happy and keep in your mind the around the island super private boat experience!

We rent a private boat in 2 couples to share the cost. The trip was good but... They said at the beginning all the costs : 150 rent the boat, 50 for the driver , and the fuel will be between 90-130 maximum for going all around the island. We agree. The sea was very quiet no big waves, sunny day. There are really some beautiful places to see , caves, blue sea . The driver was very nice person the best . Now the negatives: No turtles, don’t look after it is a waste of time . At the end of the trip they ask us for 175 for fuel !?!? They think you are naive or stupid and charged with unexpected. Of course this is there method to ripped off more money for people . They don’t tell you at the beginning so BE AWARE ! ! Overall was a good trip ( 08-17:30 ) but they wasn’t being honest and asking for more money so this is a big negative part . If you need to stop for swimming the boat is stopped ( so there is no waste of fuel at all ) . Check your tank fuel before going otherwise they will charge you as much as the want ! !

I went on a group tour of the Navagio Shipwreck Beach & Blue Caves Tour, with tour guide Constantine. The tour was excellent - one of the best tours I have attended. The scenery around the island is incredible and we were able to see things that you couldn’t see without a car (and even with your own car, you may not know the best spots). The tour guide was great. He said was very attentive, knowledgeable, and patient. He took photos of everyone in the group, kept us entertained throughout the day, and never rushed us. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Zakynthos. I suggest doing the tour at the start of your trip because our tour guide gave some good recommendations for the remainder of our time on the island.
