- Lauren BrownChorley, United Kingdom151 contributionsBeautiful sceneryThe beach is in a nice location with beautiful mountain views. It is a pebbly beach with dried seaweed. There are plenty of sunbeds but they mainly belong to the nearby hotels. The water is beautifully clear and blue. There was sometimes a strong drainage smell wafting through the air, but not all the time. Most probably coming from the hotel/beach toilets. I would say it's worth a short visit because of the stunning views and clear water.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 30, 2024
- Ellie GBirmingham, United Kingdom41 contributionsBeautiful BeachWe stayed in the Atlantica Grand Mediterraneo Resort which had it's own section of the beach where you could still use your all inclusive. The beach itself is very pebbly and difficult to walk on but once you are in the sea it's fine. The area around the sun beds is very messy with a mulch like floor which gets your feet very dirty so I'd recommend bringing an extra towel as my beach towel was very dirty but the end. Still a lovely beach and you can't beat a swim in the sea!Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 5, 2024
- MLoorCarmel, New York90 contributionsNice but too limitedErmones beach is “okay” Very small and I mean small! With a very small area to swim. The pros is that it’s not crowded. The water is crystal clear. There is one restaurant, taverna Maria with fresh fish and good food, but that’s about it. One hotel nearby serves only to patrons. The town itself is small with basic stores and two car rentals. There is one bar with music. Besides that, Nothing to do. We rented a boat and navigated for two hours and came across other small beaches to visit but no restaurants in any of them. Because it’s rocky it’s difficult to dock the boat but that was a very good experience.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 5, 2024
- cliff_taylorStafford, United Kingdom501 contributionsExcellent beach, top views and sunsetVery very picturesque, clear water, bit stones so sea shoes would makes sense (to save you walking across pebbles looking like you have lost control of your legs). Some soft pretend sand on the beach, not deep and a bit woody, obviously man made. Plenary of sun loungers, ranging between 10 and 15 euros for a pair for the day. Very peaceful, drinks and food available from the Mediterranean hotel bar or better still from taverna Maria. Recommended, but not too much as would like it to be quiet next time we go😂Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 17, 2024
- Nathalie EPassau, Germany45 contributionsOKAY but no MUSTThe path to the beach is not and you can park very well there. Nevertheless, half of the beach is forgotten about the hotel. It looks very nice as there are rocks on the right and left. The beach itself is a stone beach and not a sandy beach. It looked okay and there was still plenty of room to lie down. With us what but the weather not so nice and that's why we were not long there, because then a storm came. We've been okay, but NO need to be seen for bathing or Not necessarily.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 20, 2024

We have been looking forward to our stay Ermones , to be in the centre rather than having to walk for twenty minutes and a taxi back as we had previously done during our trip to Corfu. The information suggested we would be in a little village. I wish I had found my review before booking.
What a disappointment!
Ermones has a postage stamp beach, over half has been taken over by a hotel that stretches up the right side of the mountain. I know it's an exaggeration but it gives you an idea of the terrain.
There are at least four hotels vying for custom in a v shaped break in the hillside. The entrance to the beach on the left side is through either the Nafsika or Maria's restaurant. Even at 14:30 the beach is full , because it's not very big but imagine what it would be like if the other two hotels were open as well!
The nearest supermarket (extortionate), contradiction in terms, but understandable with Coronavirus impact is a fifteen to twenty minutes walk from the beach. Next door is the only bar.
You are a captive audience and this is summed up by Dizi bar. They don't have a menu because of Coronavirus, then you get an extortionate bill. Prices twice as high as the hotel!! All others thrust menu's at you.
People quote areas being spoilt by commercialisation, Blackpool, Skegness, Clacton, Benidorm etc. This overdevelopment in my opinion is worse. They have overdeveloped the little bay with accommodation but no infrastructure. No shop, no bar.
Employment, wealth are created by tourism however it can have a detrimental effect. The environmental impact is obvious but also negative customer experience, results in time with lower prices as they try to entice fewer tourists and ultimately derelict properties as tourists look for better experiences elsewhere.
There is a golf course near by and a lovely walk up hill to Vatos , supermarket and cafe. The next village has a taverna but unfortunately my walk wasn't repeated

This beach is 90% tourists but despite our hotel being busy, there was plenty of room on the beach. However this may be a different story when the other hotels open again. There was boat hire on this beach that I would highly recommend. We paid $25 for a tandem kayak for 2 hours in order to visit different beaches and caves. I cannot recommend this enough.

Visited almost daily as it was the closest beach to our stay however there are a few things which could be improved.
Access is good through the 2 restaurants but the walkways onto the beach itself are not the best. Uneven and some old decking/pallets. There's also an old shower rusting away.
The beach is pebble and sand which is fine however it is doesn't seem to be cleaned at all. There are no waste bins for use and the seaweed coming up from the water is left to fester on the beach, which then smells and attracts wasps. A collection of this daily would make a world of difference.
The large TUI hotel overlooking the beach also takes up most of it with their beds, which I'm sure shouldn't be happening. They have their own attended beds then the staff throw on other, poorly maintained ones for non-clients to rent. On our first day this didn't seem to be too bad as we had room to put down our towels, however as the week went on the area of beds grew leaving hardly any space for the public. This was not great when the tide was high and the only section left was covered in weed.
The edge of the water most days had fine weed but a few meters in the water was lovely. It was perfectly clear on one day only and this was beautiful.
We hired the water taxi from the end of the beach to take us to a secluded beach just around the corner. This was stunning and highly recommended. No seaweed, just perfect clear water. For 7 euro each return it was lovely. Private beach to ourselves!
With some TLC and better management from the large hotel, this beach could be a gem.

Ermones beach is a small, intimate beach, with a view of the sunset..... Spectacular. Location easily accessible and not steep. White sand and pebble beach, wonderful water. Lunch at George's Tavern recommended.

We found this cove almost by chance but it really is paradise...a beautiful, clean sea with water that is not excessively cold.
Next door is a resort bar that provides refreshments at reasonable prices. Nice bar itself where you can enjoy clean bathrooms and hot showers.
The only flaw is the parking space which is difficult to manage with a larger car.
Watch out for jellyfish. They pinched me, I turned to the guys who manage the beach and they immediately helped me with gel and support.
Truly unique prices, 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella €10 for the whole day but if you want there is also a piece of free beach where you can plant an umbrella or lay out a towel.
I highly recommend it

Really dirty water (in some places is even brown) and beach, there is nothing there just a hotel and a taverna (where I don't recommend you to eat), really terrible day, my boyfriend got stung by a bee also...we paid 10€ for 2 sunbeds which is a loooot considering the services and the location...the man who is managing the sunbeds is really stressful and disrespectful
We left the beach early

Beware its a pebbly beach not sandy, Its mostly guests from the hotel/apartments on the beach. But we did not feel out of place. We could see the little fish, the sea is clear! Also has a lovely taverna overlooking the beach

I enjoyed swimming at this beach but probably good idea to use rubber shoes as beach is gravel. Beach attendant from hotel was brilliant and worked hard all day. Lifeguard seemed to come and go. Rough walk along path on rhs of beach. General back of beach area could be tidied and open sewer/drainag3 tanks covered or made safe. I don’t like to think how the sewerage system works in such places!?

The beach is in parts sandy, stony and shingle. The sea is as blue as the sky and as calm as a pond. Views are amazing, with the small bay and steep, dramatic cliffs covered in lush vegetation. The guy on the beach looking after the facilities was amazing, working very hard and, because we tipped well, made sure we had the prime spot all week.
The beach beach bar was brilliant: great, friendly service, lovely cocktails and excellent lunchtime meals and snacks. Truly fabulous. The people were so kind and welcoming we never dreamt of searching for a sandier beach.

Loved that our hotel was right on this beach. We spent most of our hotel down at this beach and also rented a boat for 4 hours to go round the little cones along the coast which were even more stunning. The beach isn’t huge and the sun loungers and umbrellas do belong to the hotel but it really is worth a visit with a snorkel! So stunning.

I'm going to be staying at Ermones Beach in September and wondered how far the nearest supermarket is that would stock Soya milk?
Written September 5, 2020
Thinking of going here with my boyfriend in October 2018. Is there much to do in the area? I.e. restaurants, shops and activities
Written September 9, 2018
Ermones has a nice beach and a couple of Tavernas but nothing else really. It’s very quiet.

Hi
I wondered if you can tell me whether the little mini markets in Ermones are good enough to buy food for self catering like salad, ham and bread etc? We're self catering and I don't know whether the little shops sell food or just lilo's etc!
Also, is there a little boat that goes from ermones beach to another beach nearby? Are there taxi's in Ermones?
Sorry to bombard you with questions...
Thanks in Advance :)

Dear Marialena, What better beaches are there in Corfu? I will go there probably to a hotel in Ermones and I will want to go to a better beach. What do you reccomend? Thanks

Mirtiotissa is very nice but not much of the beach left due to storms and it's a hike unless you drive down, a bit of an adventure in itself!.
Head south by a few miles and you'll come to Gilfada beach which is much bigger and doesn't suffer from waves as much as Mirtiotissa and offers watersports etc in season if that's your thing, out of season is very quiet and peaceful with lovely views across the Med.
