Compared to other lakes in the area it is less popular, but it is still an exciting lake.
The tour can be done calmly, even with small children, meeting ducks and swans. It is possible to rent an old style pedal boat to "navigate" it.
At certain times, due to excessive crowding, it could be difficult to park, as what there is, for a fee, is not very large.
Advised.

The Alpine lake, which is about 3.5 kilometers from the village and has landslide origins, is nestled in the middle of the Dolomites mountains and offers a loop route to discover different views, such as some areas invaded by water (the lake has been buried over time).
There are explanatory panels on fauna and flora, as well as some paths leading to alpine pastures as well as a campsite and a bar restaurant where you can refresh yourself.
Ideal and simple relaxing walk for seniors, children and families with pets in tow

We approached the lake after seeing di Braies’ and of course the comparisons are odious (plus the sun was already gone).
🚘 There is parking for 2-3e to see the lake.
🚶🏽♀️ The lake is quite large and you can take a walk. It has restaurants on its banks possibly with very good views.
Come on if you miss this lake nothing happens, but it is big and has a certain charm!

Beautiful mountain lake, you can do the whole tour, go on a boat excursion and stop for lunch in one of the clubs on the banks.
Easily accessible on foot from the village of Dobbiaco.
Highly recommended.

Clear water, blue sky, a fantastic mountain backdrop. Very well-maintained circular paths around the lake, cycle and footpaths are separated from each other. An educational trail provides information in several languages about the lake, its origins and the vegetation. Suitable for families. Restaurants and a bee garden invite you to linger. Pedal boat rental rounds off the stay. Parking fees of EUR 2/hour, max. EUR 10/day are OK.

Pleasant walk around Lake Dobbiaco; the lake is located about 5 km from the center and can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle. The lake can be visited through a path that runs all around, the path is easy and accessible to children. The entire route is completed within 30 minutes or so.
Very pleasant and relaxing experience

Beautiful mountain lake overlooking the "giant" a lake front mountain with a well outlined face of a person sleeping supine. Excellent restaurant serving great local food at affordable prices. You eat outside and dogs are welcome. Highly recommended

It is a beautiful small lake that one can finish walking in an hour. The path is flat and easy to walk. Water is very clear.
We walked only half way - the way towards the mountains and the view is very romantic. We turned back after we got to the midway because it was getting too hot for my dog and the other side seems to have less shade.
Not a must but beautiful enough if you are at the area and have time. The next lake, Lago di Landro, down the road, in my opinion, has more spectacular view and definitely worth stopping.

Beautiful alpine lake, We cross the bridge (by bike) and after a few photos, we continue along the right bank of the lake.
Along the way various ideas to photograph the lake from the waters.
The color of the water varies depending on the times and direction of travel.....

Dobbiaco, the gateway to the Dolomites, is an excellent hub for visiting the Pusteria Valley. Easily accessible by train. One of the paths to follow is certainly the one that runs along the lake of the same name. A very easy and pleasant walk of about 4.5 km.
