Of limited interest but a nice drive from Kamphaeng Phet

Not terribly exciting .
A few private rooms for a hot bath and an open foot bath .
Quite pleasant but a long way to go before it could match a Japanese Onsen .

rRelaxing place in the countryside

Visited here on the way from Kamphaeng Phet to Sukothai National Park. The route in was quite well signposted and had no problems finding it without using a GPS. Took a reasonably priced private bathouse and enjoyed it very much.

The staff did not speak English but were helpful. The grounds were very tidy and it had a relaxing atmosphere. Well worth a couple of hours for the visit.

Nice place to relax for the day

I have been many times and have also stayed over night. Great place to relax. A little disappointed in their so called natural hot spring with a boiler right out in the open though. Nice try though.

Impressive

A clean, well managed and serene spring set in lush gardens. Free entrance. Food available outside. Children's pedalo boats THB 20. Free to dip your feet in the hot spring water or you can hire a private booth for just THB 50. Pretty flower beds and random images of Buddha and Thailand impedimenta. A relaxing way to spend 2 hours.

Pleasant, relaxing, inexpensive

Like so many other places in rural Kamphaeng Phet, the Phra Ruang Hot Springs are peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The spa features a colourful garden, with bougainvillea growing as shrubs, set around two small lakes, with boat rides on offer for the youngsters.
The resort has a number of bathhouses for those who would like to soak in the hot water. Each little house has a concrete tub that will hold up to five people, who control the water temperature themselves. The tubs are somewhat rough and ready, not at all fancy. But the experience is soothing and a compensating factor is that it is also inexpensive - less than $US 1 per person.
There is also an area where visitors can sit around shallow pool and soak their feet.
Massages are available and people say they are very good.
The resort is located about 25km from Kamphaeng Phet city, off the Sukhothai road. Entry is free of charge.
The spa has a cafe but it is very basic. There is, however, a market just outside with a cheap and cheerful restaurant, (serving Thai food).
Immediately inside the spa is a shrine to Phra Ruang, adorned with dozen of statues of chickens. It is well-attended and people treat it with great reverence as Phra Ruang is an informal name for King Sri Indraditya, the first ruler of the Sukhothai dynasty. He reigned almost 800 years ago and was said to have magical powers.
According to a nice legend, Phra Ruang was exploring his kingdom when he spotted and caught a bush fowl. Later he wanted to eat it for dinner but first he needed to pluck and to do so he needed hot water. So he called forth the hot springs.
A charming story for a charming place.
Including the drive to and from Kamphaeng Phet, a very pleasant visit takes no more than half a day.

Well worth a half day

After the heat of Thailand and the outdoor historical park and temples, a trip to the spa is ideal. It is a long way out of KP but if you have a car with GPS, it is an easy 30 mins drive. Good, clean volcanic bath and massage here, and also a nice area to sit, sip and chill. Bring your own picnic.

Hot and relaxing
Sep 2015 • Friends
My first time to ever visit a hot spring and it was amazing. Out in the countryside, in an area that looks like nothing special. However, the hot spring is like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. The grounds are immaculate. It has a pretty lake. We rented a private pool house, which houses a small, circular pool of a couple meters in diameter. An attendant then came in and opened water valves to let in a mix of hot and cold water, as the hot water by itself would be way too hot. Soaking in the pool was incredibly relaxing. Most enjoyable and I will try to do it again if I have the chance. Close to the entrance of the park are a couple of massage places, which is convenient if you want to get even more relaxed.
