Wat Chang Rop is one of many temples and ruins in Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park. There isn't a great deal left of the temple except the base with the remains of 64 elephants statues made from laterite stone and stucco. Unfortuntely, all of the elephants have been heavily vandalized over the years and all of the trunks have long disappeared. That said, the remains of the heads are quite impressive and well worth a stop as you pass through the historical park.

Located at the top of the small hill in the Northern Zone of the historical park. There are 68 elephants (laterite covered with stucco) surrounding the base of the chedi. Also worth examining are the floral patterns between the elephants and the faded reliefs on the lower part of the chedi.

Is locared inside the greater section of the historical park. You can access this part of the park by car. For me, it was the highlight of my visit to this section of the park

What a beautiful place it is! It's not huge but magnificent. Trees all around make the place more charming.

We had a car so paid 50 baht access plus 150 baht which included a second site. The site and when I say the site is huge. Too many ruins to inspect and some are mammoth and others small. We stayed for about an hour, and left before seeing everything- It was bloody hot- too hot for me. The family and friends walked around while I stayed in the car with the air on. Great construction, I can't imagine how the locals made huge stones for some main temples/ chedies. Great place to see.

The reason to be in Kamphaeng Phet is for the history parks and suites and this is a quiet, easy to access, picturesque stop.
