You must visit the Centre
Oct 2020
The national park centre is a place to visit when you are in Zernez. There you will find interesting information and expositions related to the Swisse National Park.

Very informative
Sep 2020 • Couples
Lots of information about the national park is available for you here, both in leaflet form but also in books to buy or from the staff themselves.

Once inside, a superb museum and interpretive center
Aug 2019
Unfortunately, the outside of the center is appallingly ugly: just a big concrete cube. But once you get inside, it's much better. There is a nice shop (with tasteful souvenirs and lots of books and maps). The museum itself is excellent, and focused (of course) on the natural aspects of the Swiss National Park. We got audio guides in English (which were very well done). The museum offers very engaging exhibits that take you deep into a wide variety of nature-related subjects.

We were particularly impressed by the large exhibit on the conservation of wolves in the Alps.

Staff at the front desk were accommodating and courteous. At least one spoke some English.

great... for kids
Jul 2019 • Couples
using a rainy day for this visit, we were disappointed. the center is a big building, but the exhibition is small and focussed on educational purposes for children. however, there was a special exhibition about wolves in the groundfloor that was worth it.

Helpful staff and good free documentation
Jun 2019 • Couples
While modern, the architecture of the building could have been more attractive. In 2019 there was a paying exhibition on the theme of wolves coming into the region. That was easy to skip. Otherwise the staff was helpful indicating the best trails in the National Park, and there was much free documentation available.

Must go before you start hiking in SNP
Sep 2018
I easily spent 2.5h in this Museum. Extremely well prepared exposition, telling you (almost) all you need to know about the Park, its animals and the different places you can access by hikes. I would highly recommend to visit the Center before you start hiking!

VERY hard to find!
Sep 2018 • Couples
I knew the National Park centre was in Zernez - I even saw a banner across the main road telling me that "it was there for me" - but it took me some time and some driving around to find it. Even when I thought I had found it I could not find the main entrance to the "bunker like" building it is in. Signage to the centre needs to be improved.
Once inside - lots of information and if you want to tour the "museum" part you pay an entrance fee which is fine.
