I have recently visited the new permanent exhibition of this museum. It was one of the highest positive surprise I had in my life. Especially knowing most of the museum s in Romania I was more than pleased to see this exhibition. The timeline is presented starting from prehistory coming up to nowadays. Although this museum is located in a city that is coming slowly back to life, the exhibition is already at the highest European standards. The various historical ages are presented in a very attractive way to the public. The reconstruction of scenes of daily life for each period makes the exhibition a very enjoyable one. The science is presented in a friendly way. The public can clearly understand a daily life episode at a certain moment, and next to the reconstruction will notice the most representative artifacts on display. The guide, Ioan Bejinariu, took us on the tour of exhibition and presented in English a very clear and pleasant description of what we should pay attention to various details.
As we understood from the guide the next project on developing the exhibition will be to set up the interactive part a sine qua non condition for a nowadays modern museum.
The new exhibition is for certain a high success of the team from this museum! Congratulations!

I liked the history things. It was a pleasure to go here, and they had a smart projected book with some history.

We were impressed of how well organized and arranged everything is at the Museum.
The spaces are delimited and you have the impression you travel back in time and see old villages, how they used to make fire, flour, how specific rooms were arranged in Rome for example
It's worth to visit ! Defenetly beautiful and interesting for big and small visitors.

This museum was modernised recently. Awesome for such a small town! This used to be a very communist old museum, with boring ancient stuff but now it is a lot more alive.

We have a big team an we travel a lot. The most challenging thing is for everyone to enjoy what we visit. From this poit of view we tell you one of our colleagues who hate museums is now indignant about the museums. We recommend it!

When we went to this museum, given the fact that it is in Zalau we did't expect much but I must say that we were quite impressed about it, since it is a modern place now, with interesting things from Salaj county that you can see.

The museum has been nicely restored. A kind guide has taken us through several exhibitions which show the history of people living here in different times. There are many scale replicas of huts and craftsmen and warriors and one of the section shows the town fair. Nice pictures and text as well. It is amazing how many things were discovered in the area through archaeological work.

We were lucky to have a guided tour by an archaeologist from Constanta who happened to be visiting. He was very knowledgeable and spoke good English. The museum is well laid out and the exhibits are excellent. On a 2nd visit we were guided by a poorly paid member of staff who didn't speak good English but was obviously proud of the museum.
