    A Cotswolds Gem
Received a lovely warm welcome from Deanne who took time to showcase the wonderful selection of Cotswolds' whiskies and gins. The distillery is in a beautiful rural setting and the facilities are excellent; we arrived mid-afternoon so enjoyed tea and cake (divine!). It's clear that this is a well thought out and professional presentation and a must for any single malt whisky lover. We'll be back in the future for a tasting tour and to see our friendly Deanne (hopefully as a guide to the distillery itself).....when I'm not driving of course! David & Heather, Somerset.

    Private Tour, Tasting & Lunch
Last Saturday Exploring English Whisky took a group of 11 members to do a private tour, tasting and lunch at Cotswolds Distillery. I cannot thank the entire distillery centre team enough for hosting us in exquisite style. From the first welcome to the last goodbye the experience was excellent hospitality from every member of staff. Ollie was our tour guide and he was passionate & knowledgeable and his excitement for the distillery rubbed off on everyone on the tour. Katie Groves then took us through a sublime bespoke tasting line-up (including a couple of unique cask samples) and the group were transfixed throughout by the liquid and Katie's excellent hosting. Lunch was amazing, with a varied and delicious spread, with more than enough for a hungry group to enjoy. All round 5* day out, highly recommended, especially if you can arrange a private tour for a work event or special occasion.

Fabulous lunch in a beautiful setting
We searched for somewhere cool to ride out to for lunch and we were absolutely delighted that we found the cafe attached to the distillery. Such beautiful surroundings to enjoy a lovely lunch at reasonable prices. We shall definitely be back.

    Great spot for lunch.
Stopped for a bite for lunch. Had two amazing platters, one cheese and the other a meat one. Tons of food and totally delucious. Very reasonably priced and great terrace to sit out on to enjoy a sunny lazy lunch.

A great visit for gin and whisky lovers
Cotswold Distillery tour is brilliant. I have been twice in the last 3 years. John, our guide, gave a friendly informative tour today, taking us around the distillery explaining the process of the creation of the award winning single malt whiskies and gins. A tasting session at the end in a relaxed atmosphere was a perfect finish to the visit. A good way to spend an afternoon or morning for couples or adult groups. Even the designated drivers were not left out, with a little canvas bag of miniatures of their choice to take away.

    Great lunch, fantastic whisky
This wasn’t our first time at the Distillery and re-visited to show some family members over from America what real whisky is like and to also have some lunch. Tables can’t be reserved so it’s a case of wait for one to be available. The cafe being full did put a bit of pressure on the waiting staff who weren’t quick to clear tables (so actually making the queue longer). Maybe one or two extra in the front of house would help keep things flowing a bit quicker? The food was excellent and good value for money given the location with generous portion sizes and great presentation. Then it was into the shop to try some of the new whiskies. The lady serving us is a great ambassador for the distillery and her passion for the job, coupled with some humour more than made up for the cafe wait. We could sample any of the products and didn’t feel rushed or pressured at any time. Needless to say we left considerably lighter of wallet (Treacle Rum, Banyuls cask whisky, sherry cask whisky and Calvados cask whisky) but quality of these levels is never cheap. If you’re in the Cotswolds, a visit to the distillery is highly recommended.

    Gin Masterclass
I had the most amazing time learning about Gin blending, the history and what you do at the distillery. The two hosts were engaging and fun and very helpful. I was there by my own and so needed a bit of reassurance that I was doing the right thing and nothing was too much bother. I made my own recipe and we enjoyed it the following day sat in the sunshine. Thanks so much.

Was bought a Gin/Whiskey Tour & Tasting experience as a Christmas present. What a brilliant time we had. The place is in lovely rural area surrounded by beautiful countryside. We booked in 15 mins prior to our time and had a little browse around the shop. There was approx 14 of us on tour which was a nice number. Our guide was Suzie and she was great, knew her stuff and was very entertaining, it was evident that she loved her job. After the tour we were taken into lounge/bar area and she talked us through some more interesting facts and then spent rest of time serving us. We could try as much or as little as we wanted. The experience took 1.5hrs.
The shop is great with many little gifts and of course their famous whiskey and gins!
There is a lovely restaurant on site and the food looked fantastic and was gutted we hadn’t planned it as part of our day. We did get talking to a lovely couple afterwards and sat and had a couple of drinks with them in the comfy seating area.
Think they will continue to expand the business
By far the best tasting tour we have done and would highly recommend.
Only criticism is accommodation or lack of it in the area as we are from out of the area. We booked in march and the nearest place we could find was in Hook Norton 5 miles away and the taxi cost £25 both ways!! Not many taxi firms close by. We even looked at camping and they were full,. If they are thinking of expanding they would do well to consider accommodation on site.

I purchased a Founder's Choice Single Malt Whisky from The Cotswolds Distillery a few days ago. This was my first purchase from this company as I was intrigued by the 60.5% ABV of this particular whisky as most are in the range of 40-45% ABV.

The purchase via online was easy and delivery was prompt. The Whisky was securely packed (best I have had in a long time) and the Cotswolds Distillery also sent a complimentary whisky glass.

I have sampled the Whisky yesterday and I was most surprised about the excellent quality of this English Whisky, which in my view compares favourably with Scottish Whisky and Irish Whiskey.

A leisurely drive into the beautifully scenic Cotswolds led me to the Cotswolds Gin distillery. I first came across their gin a few years ago when I purchased a bottle on my last visit to the area. I quickly took to it; I find it very smooth and flavoursome for my good old fashioned G&T (with slices of lime). The distillery is set in a lovely remote part of the area and has a small cafe, where you can get a sandwich, cake and coffee - all reasonably priced. I wasn't able to get a place on distillery tour but a very kind member of staff (apologies for not remembering her name, but she was wonderfully friendly and helpful) offered me tasting of their wide range of award winning whisky and gins. I plumped for a couple of bottles (10% off for 3!) and left very happy. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited the distillery recently having been given a tour as a gift.

The venue is easy to find and there is a decent car park. First impressions of the outside, reception, shop and cafe are first class and get even better as the tour progresses.

Our guide had a really good knowledge of the gin and whiskey making process and the specific idiosyncrasies of the Costwold Distillery.

Following the really warm and informative video presentation by the founder and other team members, the tour was really enjoyable.

The tasting room was really comfortable and inviting and the thoughtful approach towards drivers was commendable with a goody bag of samples to take away and enjoy at the cottage we had rented for the week.

We have visited a number of small and large distilleries within Scotland and Ireland over the years and this small well crafted distillery in the heart of the Cotswolds takes some beating.

Well done to all involved.

Well signposted and easy Free on site parking. Arrived one hour early for a 1pm Tasting tour, travelling from Bristol, so decided to have a bit of lunch. The menu is great and well presented, and VERY FAST service, despite the place being busy ie served to the table with 10mins!
The tour: by Hattie, was very informative and light hearty, and she is very knowledgeable about the processes, and answered lots of questions.
The tasting afterwards, was in a lovely 'front room style' setting, complete with log fire. You could choose whatever sample you liked, asHattie had told us about each product. I think the best customer service bit about this tour was the fact that the designated drivers didn't get left out. They were given a soft drink, while we tasted the alcoholic beverages, and they were then given their samples to take home, in little containers. This was a quality tour with all your team members that we came into contact with, were happy and helpful (even from booking the tour on line, as I had problems-but quick email replys helped massively). Thank you Cotswold Distillery. Worth the trip up.

We purchased a two4one Groupon voucher and did the tour after partaking of a delicious lunch in the new restaurant. The tour operator was very good, amusing and helpful, and made the tour extremely interesting. At the end we were able to sample the whiskey and gin products after our operator explained them all to us. All in all, a very enjoyable experience which we can thoroughly recommmend.

The whole tour from beginning to end was brilliant.Even the introduction video, which at other brewery and distillery tours we have found can too long and boring, was really well made and just the right length.
Stella, our guide was warm, welcoming and well informed.
The tasting session at the end was not rushed or an excuse for a big sales pitch, but just good fun.
We came away with a bag of samples for the driver and some spiced fig gin - which is only available at the distillery shop.
Would highly recommend this tour and the cafe served lovely sandwiches and cake - gin flavoured - of course!

We did the distillery tour and tasting event, which was brilliant! Our tour guide was Hattie who was lovely, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We couldn’t believe the amount of samples we could taste and the great idea of giving my husband, and the other drivers, samples to takeaway and try at home! What an excellent idea!! After the tour we had a delicious lunch in the cafe and made several purchases from the shop, which was very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend the tour, cafe and shop! A really nice place, good atmosphere and very friendly staff. It was a great afternoon and good value with 2 for 1 offer! Hope to visit again soon!!

We have been on this tour twice, once after their new cafe and tasting room was completed, we also purchased a gift for our Son and his wife.
Relaxed, welcoming and informative. Plenty of variety in their Gins, and whiskey samples too.
Fabulous cafe with a warm atmosphere for lunch or just a coffee and cake.
Surroundings very picturesque

Our tour was led by Dean who was full of energy and very knowledgeable about the process. We had a lot of fun, and learned a lot on this tour. The tasting session was held in a cosy room with comfy armchairs. Afterwards, the shop had a lovely range of items for sale, and we bought one of the small glasses used for the tasting as a souvenir.
It was a very enjoyable experience from start to finish, and I would highly recommend the tour even if you're not a gin or whisky fan.
