We were taken to Neratov by Czech friends and I would recommend anyone to visit. It is a truly spiritual place and walking into the church with a glass roof was an unforgettable experience. It was filled with light and joy. It was such a simple idea to roof the baroque church in glass (the village used to be one of Sudeten German glass workers) replacing the painted sky with a real one! The glass on and behind the altar was lovely but the most stunning glass article was the flying Madonna surrounded by stars above the altar. Children were busy making their offerings out of the pebbles at the bottom of the pillars and there was an interesting exhibition at the back with pictures of visits by Vaclav Havel and his wife and of Princess Diana.
The roof supports are of basic wood and there are simple pews and the only other churches that have given me a similar feeling of modern religious architecture working are the Cathedral in Coventry and le Corbusier's church in the Vosges.

The church was built between 1723 and 1733 and burnt in 1945 afer the the hit of missile at the and of II world war. Latter it was supposed to be demolished but as the miracle (due to the financial matter) it survived till today and the reconstruction is still ongoing. The church is partly roofed with glass which makes this place more magical. The village is middle of nowhere in the nice setting. I had relaxed time here.

A place at the end of the world - a forgotten village with surprisingly stunning basilica that has been almost destroyed after the WWII, yet renovated after the fall of Iron Curtain. Some places might be found holy in its deep nature. Somewhere you feel the presence of God. This is the place. Sit on a chair in the old basilica and see the sky through the glass roof. Not many emotions on the world can be compared to this pme-
