Don't miss this
Jul 2019 • Solo
An absolutely unmissable mosque - another one of the long and narrow ones that characterise both Tarsus and Adana. Enjoy a drink at the pleasant nearby Kubbe Café afterwards

Lovely mosque but not very women friendly
Sep 2018 • Friends
Mosque is nice. Went there for Friday prayers with my husband and was told there is no space for women on a Friday. Apparently when it’s busy they close the women’s section. I found that very upsetting. Ok if you are just going to sight see any other day of the week.

Beautiful mosque
Dec 2018 • Couples
The Ulu Camii or the Grand Mosque was built in 1579 by İbrahim Bey but it is believed that it was built in an old temple area as old stones were re-used. It has a rectangular patio with an ablution fountain in the middle. There used to be 2 minarets but one was converted into a clock tower. The brick cupolas surrounding the roof look very beautiful. The interior is also very nice. Shoes must be taken off inside and women should wear a scarf.

A Magnificent Building Transformed from a Cathedral to a Mosque with Keeping the Main Architecture
Feb 2018 • Friends
Clean and well protected building. According to the guide, recently it is used as a mosque; but it's original structure was a cathedral. You can see the architectural features of the both structures if you look at the building a bit carefully.

Majestic Tarsus mosque
Jan 2018 • Friends
1200 years old mosque in city center Tarsus.
There were 2 minarets but more than one hundred years ago left side minaret damaged with thunder during stormy weather and then converted to the clock tower. Now 1 minaret and 1 clock tower.
It is located city center and very close to the 40 spoon bazaar and daniel prophet mosque/thomb and saint paul church.

Religious historical site
Jul 2016 • Family
Beautiful mosque that still holds the essence of the past. Those who enjoy visiting historical sites will appreciate this place. Women should dress modestly and bring a headscarf along or you won't be able to enter. Right by the entrance theres a little market selling all sorts of Turkish trinkets. A good place for taking some great pictures too because of the architecture. This place is loved bylocals so if you visit during prayer times be sure not to disturb those praying.
