Excellent open air museum. You can examine several examples of the rural architecture on a huge area. There are short information in Hungarian and in English about every spot. There is also a small authentic village shop when you can buy a few things. Some of the buildings are open and furnished, so you can see how it looked like originally.
There is an archeological part, where they rebuilt a few buildings from the 11-13. century, but I don't get the idea - I think the main goal of a skanzen is showing the ethnographical remains and not the presumption of the archeology.

Visited several times on different occasions. Felt like living in the past, or a fairy tale. Charming in all seasons, mainly in spring. They revive folk traditions. It's a must at Easter or on 1st May.

We got free entrance ticket in the hotel where we stay for 3 nights.
Nice, calm, really big surprise for us.
We felt we are back in the old time and
this place is not a museum, it is a living place.
Go and enjoy!

There is a great collection of period homes transplanted here and on display. That in and of itself is a Herculean effort. Very interesting all around. The only comment that’s a little disheartening is that the property is quite untidy - beyond the houses it seems like a place to put old bikes, scrap metal and a washing machine. The grounds could use some care and attention.
