Endre Szászi's biodynamic, handicraft wines from the Szigliget region near Lake Balaton are among our favourites so we wanted to visit his winery once as well. It was a great experience. We did not order a lunch in advance (as guests are supposed to) but still we received a delicious meal, it was the very last for the day. The wines are of high quality, they have to be tasted to choose for the favourite. The winery lies in a hillside, the scenery is splendid with the Lake Balaton and the Szigliget castle in the background. There are a lot of wineries around so it’s worth to visit the neighbourhood, and I think the one that is not to be missed is the Szászi Winery for sure.
It's important that the winery is in Hegymagas so not at the Szigliget address given above.

Superb panorama, quality food, famous volcanic wines. Restaurant + wine tasting area with cosy tables and benches in the shadows. Might need reservations for the restaurant, as it gets more and more popular

For many years I've been visiting Szaszi's wine place to do my annual shopping just under the fortress of Szigliget. Never disappoints. Great place, top quality wine, and of course you can taste. Should you be visiting the north side of lake Balaton, add this to your lists.

If you want to taste the traditional savor of Badacsony wines combined with all the tricks and secrets a modern winery can bring to that you must visit Szászi Pince (Winery). Elegant wines, great location, competent and sociable hosts.

Nagyon köszönjük, szeretettel várunk a Süllőfesztiválon, 2015 10. 23.-25.-én, a Szászi Birtok standjánál, ha Szigligeten tartózkodtok!

It is hard to pick the best wine of the great selection, but make sure you try the typical Balaton wine, Olaszrizling, though my favourite is the Olaszrizling Kabocas selection. Their sparkling wine is unique, as it is normally made of pinot gris. The food is delicious and the rooms/apartments blend in the breathtaking panorama. Make sure you visit them when in the area!

It is a rare place where the natural features are not exploited, but served as extras alongside the fantastic flavors.
