About
is a group of young people who know each other since 2010 in a voluntary NGO whose duties are cleaning the environment by collecting the garbage from the nature and teaching children in kindergarten to respect to the nature. We were always worry how visitors speeds up erosion and destruction of the desert and it was our common concern, so we decided to organize our tours based on Environmentally Friendly. “Visit Kalouts” organizing professional Eco-Friendly tours to the desert and other part of Kerman province.. We have been trying to plan our tours according to the elements of sustainable development: _Trekking deep into the desert rather than using 4X4 vehicles. (the Kalouts area is not soft like sand dunes and they are similar to the adobe stuffs; accordingly, they are erodible) * In our tour we will trekking deep in desert to almost unique and not common places! We help you to enjoy peaceful silence of the desert and recording the best moment in your mind and camera!

Ali is a great guide, very informed about iranian history and culture. We spent 2 days in the desert, sharing foods, talks and music with local people in amazing traditional accomodations. I can only recommend this kind of tour; I'd say more: hope to repeat in the next future :)

I am a faculty member at Mercyhurst University and recently we had the pleasure to visit Rome with a group of students. The support and guidance we received while navigating public transportation, excursions, and volunteer sites was excellent. Attention to details and communication was strong. We felt well supported throughout the entire trip. Highly recommended

My friends and I went on a day trip to Kalut Desert and had a fabulous day. Our tour leader, Ali, was very pleasant and informative. He made sure we had a rich local experience and gave us plenty of information at each site. He also made sure we had fun and enjoyed our time around the beautiful landscape.
Notably, he also helped our friend who got stuck in mud to get out. He went knee deep in to give her a hand. We would definitely recommend taking a tour with him and his company.

My experience was amazing! If you want to feel the real local atmosphere and enjoy thoroughly the Kalout desert you have to contact VisitKalouts.
We stayed a couple of days spending the night in a homestay, it was a really pleasant accomodation! We went in a deep trekking into the kalouts area, enjoying the silence and the landscape around us, meanwhile I was learning what is the the Lut Desert and how we can preserve it. I was so lucky to see the sunset and sunrise in that wonderful environment!
The day after we went to visit the Persian Garden of Mahan.. Now I know why they have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List! Absolutely magnificent!
I truly enjoyed my time in Kerman and I have to thank these guys who really love their job. A special thanks to my guide (Shiva) who was really lovable and knowledgeable.

I spent two weeks in Iran and from Kerman I traveled to Kalouts in a tour and with out any doubt it was one of the most impressive sights I have ever seen in my entire life. The scenario is astonishing, all the are is huge and still unexplored and undamaged by humans. It has also a low number of tourists allowing to enjoy being alone with the nature. I recommend to stay until late to see the sunset and to walk around the sand mountains. Some people also stay overnight, but I was limited in terms of time. It's very complicated to go there with public transportation, I recommend to go there with a tour for safety and commodity.

The trip to the Kalouts with the guide Ali was absolutely unforgettable. The whole trip was organized perfectly into every detail. Even though the temperatures were still pretty high in October, Ali chose the places to rest and cool very carefully. Also their care for local people and including them into tourism and benefiting from it was very inspiring. The most amazing part of the trip was the walk deep into the desert and climbing on top of one of the kalouts to watch the sunset. Or just lying on a sand dune in complete silence... My family and I learned so much about Iran, the society, people, films, local traditions while spending the day with Ali. We rarely do any guided tours and this one set the standards pretty high. If you have time to do a trip with Visit Kalouts, you won't regret it! Thanks again, Ali. 🤗

We went to Kalout desert with Ali and it was a great trip with a great guy. Ali is very knowledgable and speaks really good English. He took us to a lot of very beautiful places and had plenty to tell about them. He even sang for us in an empty water reservoir and recited a Hafez poem in the evening ;) Ali also was very sensitive about when to stay with us and tell us something about the place and when to let us enjoy the atmosphere on our own and wait for us in the background. The ecolodge we stayed in was a very nice and cosy with a lovely family running it and yummy food. We can fully recommend going on a trip with Ali, even though he is more expensive than other guides. And we can definitly recommend a trip to the Kalouts, they are just a magical place!

We book our trip when we were still in Slovenia based on the other reviews and we did’t regret it for a minute. Our guide Ali pick us up in Kerman and drive us to the Kalouts. Even the drive to the desert was magical, roads and mountains are amazing. Ali was realy flexible he stop where we want to so we can took photos or just enjoy the view. First day we should watch the sunset but sandstorm changed our plans. It was something we didn’t saw before apocalyptic and beautiful, like we were on the other planet. We took 2-day trip so over night we stay in ecolodge at Shahdad village with a family who cooked us delicious meals everything homegrown and local. In the early morning we went back to the desert to watch the sunrise. Same desert but totally different experience from the day before. Peaceful we were just stay still and watch the sun goes up. We could stay there for hours and still be amazed. Kalouts was one thing that really made great impression on me while traveling in Iran. We also saw Shur River, Camel Hills, Gaz trees, garlic fields and caravanserai.

Ali is an excellent guide and a great person to have a conversation. Highly recommended.

But be warned that the 'ecolodge' accommodation in the Kaluts is very basic and overpriced. Choose a one-day tour and overnight in Kerman instead.
