semi developed hot springs. Different areas for male/female washing of bodies, another area for clothes washing downstream. For privacy you can use separate bathrooms for soaking in. Fantastic. One entry price...tourists pay more, about $2 oz.

This is an awesome place to be; especially at the end of the year approaching winter, where the temperature can go below 7 degree celcius. It is a good gathering place for the locals and its a fun place to be. I had a good time of hanging out with friends here and there are some eateries around this area that serves pretty decent Shan food. It may look basic but I love it.

Just a 15 min tuktuk ride away from city center, this is an awesome place to spend the night. Food and drinks are available around the big pool, atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly.
Water is crazily hot (45degree Celsius or more) so you cannot stay in there for too long.

I have been here when young and once after 25 years. What it was rustic and fun place when it was first developed had turned into a despair. Nothing had improved nor repaired. lots of sludge in bathing area and very slippery, no clean and nice area to walk or sit, and personal bathrooms which I am not sure whether people still using it or not. No reason for tourists or visitors to go there, and they don't provide any facilities for them either. the bridge is an adventure itself to walk on with its shaky and loose planks, make you a scary crossing. Have several local food stalls across the bathing area and it is the only thing we enjoyed.

Water is hot though, would have been a nice place if they had it developed a little more properly.

We entered into large dusty lot circled by vendors and stalls. doesnt look promising at all. uh oh my girlfriend loves naturslistic beautiful hot springs and we travelled to Lashio on a vague intuition this spring would be if not romantic, at least relaxing..

there are seperate men's and women's areas. a large bridge is spanning the mens section. and i notice that there are at least 10 people washing clothes in the overflow from the main pool. Lots of suds and splashing, some kids playing and some vigourous soaping up..

hey is that our driver in his undies getting a quick bath in? yes, why yes it is.. good for him he was certainly happy to take us to the tubs... perfect opportunity to mix a little pleasure with business.

to the water was hot, 45 celsius at least. too hot to submerge more than a foot into. a great place for a clandestine betel chew though.. I was slightly concerned that the guys next to us chewing paan were going to sploosh red spit into our soaking pool.. luckily they did not and were friendly. Thy seemed to enjoy it, seems a popular spot with many locals.. and why not its nice if you call it what it is..

A great place to wash your laundry/Bath/ have a foot soak if you live nearby.

hot springs tour destination it is not.. see for yourself if you need an example of what i consider the more dismal end of the hot spring Spectrum..

not trying to paint it in a bad light but am trying to save some travelers time.
Absolutely avoid this one.

Our visit to Lashio Hot Springs occurred during the off season so most of the site was being renovated for the high traffic of people that go to the hot spring in November and December. Most of the people that were there were construction workers and two people were bathing in the springs at the time. The water was well heated. During the main season, I have been told that the place is quite crowded so if you want to visit, it might be best to go early in the morning or around the time the season begins or ends. I inquired about the source of the hot spring but no one seems to know and I was unable to find much on the internet.

This would be a wonderful attraction but the rubbish strewn around it spoilt it. Empty cans and plastic bags. The actual hot spring and little boats and the shop were great. The environs let it down big time. The water is hot! Had a swim in it during the rain. Awesome.

While I was in Shivaratri Festival @Shankhai with my friends, then we visited to Hot Springs just for killing times. The nature of lakes was amazing but it’s crowded with locals bathing at pools.
The water temperature was approximately 45C+ and wasn’t sure to take a bath. There are interesting local restaurants around the pools to have snakes & drinks.
Overall worth to visit but not to take a bath.
