Visited as part of a guided tour from Wroclaw having spent the morning at Gross Rosen camp. Tours are timed, you have to wear a hard hat and there are audio guides available. It was very interesting but left you wanting to find out more, it’s definitely something to read more about. Some audio visual effects take place whilst in the tunnels in order to give you a feel for what it might have been like for the workers. It’s damp and cold all year round, but doesn’t involve a boat ride like some of the other entrances. Felt safe throughout.

I went here after visiting Oswoka and it's a poor second in my opinion. The tunnels themselves aren't very long at all, and they have tried to make up for this with some very poor light and sound shows, which don't really achieve anything and detract from the solemnity of the place.

As I don't speak Polish I had to use an audio guide but then guides commentary was so loud I couldn't really hear my audio guide that well, even with the volume fully up and the foam pressed against my ears.

It's not clear to me the timetable for the tours as I arrived at 3:50pm, thinking I could join a 4pm tour, but the tour had already started and I had to run to catch it.

Note whilst you can pay to enter by card, the audio guide has to be paid for with cash for some reason.

Probably worth seeing if in the area, but nothing like as impressive as the tunnels at Ksiaz or Oswoka.

This place should be one of the most visited places in Poland, but instead hardly anybody has ever heard about it. It constituted a part of an unfinished Nazi weapons factory (probably). Today you can admire their engineering and imagine what it was supposed to look like and what was its purpose. They also put great emphasis on the suffering of prisoners who were forced to build it. Thanks to just several lamps and loudspeakers one can feel the atmosphere of the harsh conditions, I must admit it's really well done, the guide was great as well, extremely passionate about his story. It's easy to go past it, since there's only one sign showing the way, so look out for it. I also advise you check the hours of entry on their website, since they differ in summer and winter months.

The site belongs to a bigger project called Riese (= "giant" in German). The project consisted of 7 underground facilities: Jawornik, Soboń, Gontowa, Książ, Rzeczka, Włodarz and Osówka. The last three are accessible for tourists, Książ as well but only in a small part. There are 2 hypotheses as to what was supposed to be created here:
1) underground weapons factory,
2) Hitler's headquarters.
During your tour you'll get to know the history of the place, esp. who and in what conditions built it. You'll also experience what was happening inside thanks to well-prepared illuminations of sound and light. Rzeczka facility is a place that makes you stop, think and appreciate the freedom we now can enjoy...

The ticket costs 14 PLN, but I recommend buying a joined ticket for 22 PLN that enables you to visit the Grodno Castle as well.

This is one of three sites of huge Riese Project, that is open for tourists. Located just south of Walim, by the route leading to Nowa Ruda via Rzeczka and Przełęcz Sokola. Small car park on the drive paralel to main road. New reception building, with ticket desk and souvenirs. This is the place, when you collect your hard hat, before entering the underground corridors. The whole area in front of underground part serves as an open air exhibition of few WWII features, such as Bailey bridge, small concrete structures, used as bomb raid shelters or guard-houses, models of V-2 nazi rockets. There's two entrances to the underground complex, one just beside new reception building, and the tour inside there is rather short, and then there's another one, just several dozen meters south, with much longer tour. Both underground tours with tour guide only. Very limited bus service from Wałbrzych to Rzeczka stops on the main road opposite Sztolnie.

We were there for short trip in October. I know the place is not huge, maybe not well popular and a bit of main road but is well worth of visiting. Is a part of Hitlers huge project called Riese.Place where many people lost their life.It takes only bit of time but all the knowledge you will get is enormous. Is guided in Polish by guys who spent most or all they life round there and they love what they do, audios are available in 5 or 6 other languages. If you don't drive you will be able to use bus from Walbrzych or if you do so, it can be combined with other places near by for long day trip. If you like history this is place to go.

Sztolnie Walimskie were build by Nazi Germany during WWII as a part of large "RIESE" complex. Third Reich dig over 100 m deep into the rock mountains to create air raid safe bunkers.
What was the ultimate goal of that construction is still not clear. Some stories sound more true (underground factories), some more exciting (underground HQ for top German commanders), some highly controversial (Wunderwaffe tests, UFO meeting place or - last but not least - place for hiding treasures).
Even today you have to admit the engineering mastery of construction. But along with that one have to remember that was the place of slavery and death of many Konzentrazion Lagers prisoners.
Worth to see not only for history lovers.
Note: one can buy the combined ticket for Sztolnie Walimskie and Grodno Castle nearby. Good deal!
