In September, I did the guided 9/10-day tour Peaks of the Balkans with a friend. Booking was super easy, and Anila answered all questions in advance competently and quickly. We were in a group of eight people aged 25 to 60 from New Zealand, Australia and Germany, as well as a guide from Kosovo, and we all got on very well. Our very nice and funny guide Alb told us a lot of interesting things about the country, the people and the hosts, and managed all needs and unforeseen events with confidence. The other guides from BNA who were travelling with other groups and whom we met along the way were also very friendly. When a few of us were a little ill, Albi accompanied us as well. We felt in good hands with BNA and can only recommend booking through BNA.
The hike was simply fantastic. The paths became more beautiful and lonely from day to day. Some of the accommodation was quite simple, but all totally fine, and with very warm hosts and very good local food. We were lucky with the weather and only had sun. Now and then we were able to cool off in ice-cold mountain lakes. I found the hikes quite strenuous (the daily evening briefing was something like "tomorrow: 1000 meters up and 1000 meters down..."😉), but also doable with moderate fitness. The route deviates from the original path in some places, e.g. on day 9 Grebaje/Taljanka - for me definitely an absolute highlight of the tour. All in all, the tour was an unforgettable and horizon-expanding experience!

I had a fantastic experience with BN Adventures, who organised a 7-day self-guided tour for me. From helping me customise the itinerary, to ensuring I had all the information and insights I needed in advance, to providing support and answers along the way where requested - they were phenomenal. I would thouroughly recommend this format and this agency to anyone!

My son and I just completed the “10 Days self-guided Peaks of the Balkans tour” (which includes 9 days walking) from Balkan Natural Adventure (BNA). Some of the walks were on the "official" Peaks of the Balkans Trail, some were not, and all were excellent. Our two favourites were climbing Gjeravica, the highest Peak in Kosovo, from Doberdol and the walk to Taljanka from Grbaja Valley (neither of which are "official").
The GPX tracks BNA provided for our self-guiding were good. BNA were a delight to deal with throughout; always responsive, friendly and helpful. I would be very pleased to visit the Balkans with BNA again and am happy to recommend them.
(PS: our last day of walking was from Vusanje – Theth. We arranged a transfer from Vusanje village up the first part of the route along a 4WD track (approx 5km), and BNA arranged our collection from Bar Cafe Taxi Kroni, thus saving a further 5km or so along another 4WD track into Theth. I strongly recommend doing this as the 4WD sections are not very interesting while the remaining 12.7km with 740m of ascent "in the middle" is stunning. And quite demanding enough for a 9th consecutive day of walking!)

We booked a guided 8 day hike with Balkan Natural Adventure in June 2022 and we’re really happy we did so! The contact about departure date and itinerary with Anila and Virtyt was easy and they were very helpful and flexible.
We met our guide Gezim the day before departure on the campsite we were on. Immediately we had a very good feeling, he was friendly, helpful and funny. We hiked a total of 8 days through mostly great weather. Gezim knew the area very well, we followed the official path almost all the time but also deviated for a more beautiful side tour or if the official road was blocked (e.g. because of snow). Gezim is a very easy guy to connect with, he is happy to share stories or have serious conversations but is also fijne with being quite. It almost felt like hiking with a friend instead of with a guide and it was hard to say goodbye in the end.
We would recommend Balkan Natural Adventure without a doubt and would also not hesitate to recommend Gezim as a guide! He is the best!

We use Balkan Natural Adventures for our Peak of the Balkans hiking trip. We'd never used a company to help plan a trip before for us, but we were very glad we did for this one. BNA is very organized and communicative. They provided very clear trip notes, tips and even reading recommendations (which were excellent). The guesthouses we were booked at were all amazing, the car transfers very helpful, and having BNA organize our border permits helped eliminate additional stress. We would definitely recommend BNA to future groups wanting to hike the PoB! Festa was our point of contact at BNA and she was really friendly, quick at responding and checked in part way through. We all felt very taken care of!

Thanks a lot for the review. We think self-guided yours are the future and we work a lot to make them easy and affordable. When there are a lot of bookings and you walk hut to hut company adds a lot of value.

A real reference for organizing the tour of the Balkan summits.
We left as a couple. We wanted to have the guide accompany us but we did not want to be in a group. Everything was perfectly organized by Balkan Natural Adventure.
Communication by email, multiple exchanges, adjustments to the program, organization of transfers before and after the trek: everything was really perfect. Our guide: Donika was great. Very professional, always smiling and full of energy, she not only allowed us to walk 145 km but thanks to her we got to know the culture, history and inhabitants of the 3 countries we crossed. Every evening we stayed in a guesthouse, always in a single room, often even with a private bathroom. The full board included in the stay allowed us to taste the local and traditional cuisine.
It's rather simple but still very fresh and good. We discovered magnificent mountains, beautiful landscapes and 3 countries that we knew nothing about before our vacation.
Very beautiful trek, magnificent landscapes and beautiful human adventure.
Thanks so much to Balkan Natural Adventure for organizing everything and to Donika for being our guide - it was truly perfect.

Gezim and Astrit are great tour guides. They took care of us. It is possible to relax on certain days in case you get tired on all the hiking - not mandatory to hike for 9 days. The guides are checking the weather and there will be changes in itinerary in case weather does not suit.

With the help of the company, we organized a 5-day self-guided trip in POB, where on the last day we did a Via Ferrata route.
Even though our outbound flight was delayed and we arrived a day late, the company representative immediately took care of updating the plan.
She was exceptionally available for any request or question, while providing wonderful personal attention and masterful organization of all the logistics needed for the trip.
The Via Ferrata route was amazing, and the guidance was professional and excellent. One of the owners of the company even took us to Bior Boker in the city of Peje, including to places of special and delicious local food.
In conclusion - it is highly recommended to plan your trip with the company - professionals, available, helpful and very nice!

In August 2023 we completed the Peaks of the Balkans 10 day / 9 nights trek through Albania Kosovo and Montenegro. We are in our mid and late 60s and had done comparable hikes in past years, though this trek was a little more demanding than we thought it would be. However with a supportive guide and fellow walkers (all in their 30s) we never felt out of our depth or beyond our capabilities.
It was an amazing and challenging experience that took us through mountains and valleys that we never knew existed! A part of the world that we had limited knowledge of, but came away with eyes well opened. Also as part of an all-comers group we made friends and shared adventures with a delightful erudite and fit cohort of young people from other countries.
Vali, our guide was professional and personable, and provided us with everything that we and the rest of our group required. She was supportive, positive, very knowledgeable and lots of fun to be with. We finished the hike with many good memories (and photos).
We will not hestitate to recommend the trek to other experienced hikers back home in Australia.
Thank you, Vali and BNA, for facilitating the trek.

Just finished the 9-day hike of the Balkans and cannot complement our 4 guides Vali, Gizem, Artan and Albi enough, they were phenomenal!. From the onset they were very attentive to all our requirements, with a tailored made itinerary that suited everyone.
They made the hike one of the most enjoyable trips possible, nothing was too much for them and everything was carried out with a smile and a positive manner. Amazing scenery, wonderful and varied accommodation, local quality food and the most rewarding climbs and astonishing views.
