Getting advice about the road conditions saved us a trek towards Ubirr (the road was flooded) - 4WD only and we were in a sedan. The lady at Bowali gave us best options for car travel and the 'must see' places if here for a limited time. She was spot on.

This visitor center has some exhibits, but they were a little underwhelming. There are toilets (NOT well supplied with soap or toilet paper), and a cafe (very pleasant, excellent burgers) with seating that is covered, but open on the sides. Very friendly staff at both visitor center and cafe.

We stopped here to look around the exhibits in September 2016 - part of the exhibits were closed for restoration but what we could see was really interesting. The staff were very knowledgeable about the local area.

Went in the quiet month of March but this meant that we had plenty of time to have the Kakadu National park explained in the various ways and presentations of this visitor centre.

A great spot to find out all about Kakadu. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. There's an interpretive area, theatrette, gift shop and cafe.

What can we do in the national park? Where can we start? Are any roads closed this time of year? Many questions were answered and many insights given into life in the Kakadu National Park. Look for the movie schedule for a great visual to get you excited about your stay.

The Bowali visitors centre deserves its reputation as a great place to start your exploration of Kakadu. There's a small but good cafe with free wifi, a nice little store with reasonably priced artefacts, an excellent display centre which backgrounds you on the Aboriginal history, geology, wildlife, climate and seasons. All important to your appreciation of this wonderful region. Last but... More

The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us good information for our visit to the park. It has a great setup with lots of information, animal displays and artifacts. There is also a great cafe which beats most places in Jabiru for a quick break.

As a local of the top end we visit bowali a lot and all the staff are very helpful we usually stop for a coffee and a bite to eat at the cafe, but however over the recent weeks the service and quality at the cafe has been terrible, e.g. Cleanliness around the tables constantly being served the wrong coffee...
