On the side of the main road to takaka lies a hidden gem. Hidden because you crouch through a secluded door to get in and come out of a trapdoor at the end! The tour takes you the full length of magnificent dry caves with...More

Great historical trip through this cave. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. The cave had beautiful structures. It is very well lit up and at some point, with warning, the guide turns the lights off. It is not wheelchair or baby friendly. There...More

The guided tour through these caves is excellent. The caves are magnificent - best I've seen in NZ. Track through the caves is well marked. Well worth the $20 entry fee.

Visited on a rainy day with family. Guide was informative. Exit is up a runged ladder so I would not recommended for less mobile people.

Enjoyed this stop as we drove over Takaka Hill. Amazing that there are random sink holes along the pathway (fenced off) so important to stay on the path. We did the tour on a busy day, so our guide was a little rushed since we...More

The caves are beautiful and are absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area. A 30 minute tour is just 20 NZD per person and you learn loads about the caves, New Zealand, and the surrounding area. You even get to hold a...More
