A pleasant afternoon walk to discover buildings that recall our Andalusian alquerias. You can go door by door and see bedrooms, kitchen, pantry with ancient objects.A great occasion to taste some local food and enjoy a most beautiful sunset.

Looking at some of the other reviews I think we were unlucky on the timing of our visit.

We came in the middle of summer and whilst the village was open, almost all of the houses in the village were locked so we couldn't see inside anything. We probably spent about 15 minutes here and then left.

I'd suggest you try and check beforehand if its open. I think if they have their market stalls/shops open too that will give you a totally different experience from the one I had.

Our guide was nice and friendly and pickup time was on time. Scene at the Hatta was beautiful and the Hatta Heritage Village provided lots of information. Our guide was patient to wait for us to take photos and introduce choices of lunch and let us to get off at gold suck instead. Nice trip and guide.

I love learning about other cultures and their history, so after visiting Hatta Dam I was excited to visit the Heritage Village.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the experience, but that is not to say I wouldnt recommend the visit to anyone.

Whilst there are lots to see and information to read, the 'exhibits' are looking very tired and out-dated. All of the technology (projectors, TV screens, and audio) was not working at all and some were clearly broken.

It seems like there was a decent initial investment in this project but since has been left to dwindle away into disrepair, which surprises me considering how proud a nation the UAE is.

I hope this village manges to gain some further investment to upgrade and bring this back to its full potential.

The Hatta heritage village is one of those attractions that is a must if you are into cultural experiences and like to explore the history and heritage of the local population. I visited the village with my wife as part of a journey to the town of Hatta, located around 2 jours from Dubai.
We were amazed by the disposition of the village. It is actually a original Hatta village and the various quarters where people used to live in the past. It provides a real life view of how the local population lived and provided for its continuity. It depicts a beautiful picture of how the very day life of people looked like from where they sleep, how they get up, how they manufacture dates and how they protect their surroundings.
I suggest you go into every chamber of the various buildings and read the description that is provided. It is a truly nice walk back into the corridors of history that the local population wants to provide you with and it is definitely worth the experience.
I also suggest you go up to the tours where the guards used to overlook the surrounding area and enjoy some of the beautiful natural views and scenes. The village has two towers, either is recommended to be visited.
The village does not have an entrance fee. It is actually feee to go in for as long as you need but it is suggested that a token of appreciation is left on the way out. Also respecting the place and its meaning to the locals is quite important.

I recommend visiting the Hatta heritage village while in town. While you are at it why not go to the nearby dans to have a great natural experience and rent a kayak to double up on a unique and special experience away from the grind of Dubai

Our first stop on a day trip from Dubai, to see some emirate history was the heritage village at Hatta. A well presented tourist attraction, with free entry and commentary chai (Arabic tea) and dates on arrival. Due to the disorganised tour operator we went with (focal point tourism) We only had 30 mins to look around which was a real rush and didn't give us enough time to have a real look around. 1hr - 1hr 30 mins would be ample... Yes, The place could do with a little upkeep here and there, but the staff were brilliant and overall it was worth a visit.

A day trip to this little tourist attraction is a fun day out to take guests and enjoy the walk. The setting is beautiful and you really get a feel of an ancient emirate village. Fun trip for the kids too. The view from the top of the fort is amazing.

If you happen to be in Hatta, then it’s certainly worth a visit. I can’t believe it’s completely free!
