About
Star Hill Golf Club opened its fairways and greens for play in 1967, making it one of the Crystal Coast’s preferred golfing traditions. Our 27 holes of coastal Carolina golf are always in great condition. We enjoy a reputation as a fun, challenging course that is always in excellent condition, rain or shine. Weather here for your vacation or a local resident, we welcome you. With well kept grounds and friendlyhelpful staff, Star Hill Golf course is a golfing favorite among visitors and locals alike. We are a great place to spend the whole day, or just to play 9 holes. Star Hill Golf Club offers all the comforts you will need for a great day of golf – both on the course as well as at the 19th hole. Our carts are ALWAYS ON THE COURSE, no matter how much rain we’ve had.

Great layout. Very rough shape otherwise. For $20 more CCCC and The Beaufort Club offer far superior experiences. It’s a shame because this place has real potential—27 holes, so close to Emerald Isle. Would love for this place to have some TLC.

Every person there except one is rude. And I have been going here for 20 years because there simply is no other choices nearby. The members don’t want you there, and I don’t think the staff does either. Bent greens that are decent. Ball rolls forever because fairways are hard and thin and very little fertilizer. They have some interesting holes on the Lakes nine. About 50 bucks and not worth it. But then supply and demand and there is very little supply of golf in the area. My family was in the golf business and I worked in the golf business in all facets at several clubs. I get the impression they may be tight for money like most of the golf industry right now.

Greens are in the process of being re-done. Course is definitely improving but definitely needs some work. In terms of price, you can't beat it. Anyone visiting Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach should definitely check this place out!

I've been golfing at Starhill with my fiance a few times, and every time we have golfed here the guy in the clubhouse is extremely rude and makes us feel like we aren't welcome. Worst customer service we have EVER had to deal with anywhere in the U.S.! The course is nice, but the clubhouse guy needs to work on his people skills. We refused to play the last time we went after the way he was talking to us & went to a nearby course where the workers were much more friendly and welcoming.

More affordable than Crystal Coast CC but pricier than Brandywine Bay. Played twice this week as solo walk-on. Found Pines course (9-holes) easier than the Lakes course (9-holes). Pines course is straight and wide with very few obstacles or hazards. Greens are small making the Pines course approach shots challenging. Greens were hard and very fast in the afternoons, not sure how well they hold in the morning. That, too, made the course a bit, but not overly, challenging. Fairways were a little spotty in places but overall, very good. The Lakes course starts with a couple of over-water shots but will not affect anyone with a sure drive. Greens were also hard and fast there. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Sands course (9-holes) was closed this week as they are converting greens to new/different grass. If I lived here I would make this course my go-to course for regular play. Pro shop is nice. There is a restaurant that shares the lot but did not have a chance to eat there. Overall, the course is quite picturesque and is an affordable round. I was told that next year the golf carts will have GPS. My only wish is that tee-times were available to book on line.

Course in Good Condition..Greens are AWFUL-- Many Dead Spots..Some Temp Greens..The Owners of the Course need to replace the Bent Grass Greens with Bermuda...It's way overdo...Bad Greens makes the Course unplayable in Spots

Because we live at the beach, we get lots of company who love to play golf.
I am always so proud to bring our guests to Star Hill.
Last week we took a neighbor's son to play. He had such a great experience that he went back by himself the next day to play. He thought the course was in perfect shape and I agree, it is!!!
This is out first year to be full members. We love the course and staff. Everyone at the desk is so upbeat and professional.
I have taken a series of lessons form Mick, the golf pro. All I can say is that this is the first time my handicap has gone down based on the advice I have received. Mick is full of strategies and tips to practice..
Thanks, Mick and thanks, Star Hill!!

I played 27 holes here in Sept as part of a retirement party for a friend. The staff was very friendly. The course was in great shape with good greens. There are some water areas that surprise you. The course is mostly wide open. Even if you miss the fairway, you can play from the next one.

The greens were bad, bad. No explanation at the club house, apologies or reduced rate. I like this course and will play again on my next vacation. But fix the greens.

The course is close to Emerald Isle Beach. We interacted with more than five staff members and came away very impressed with the service they provided. The course we played (note: there are two on site) was not difficult, which was great for our group. The greens were exceptional but they were having difficulty with fairway turf on some of the holes. Not a big deal all things considered.
