If you have Mt Everest on your list. I would not fly straight into lhasa as we saw so many people do and a lot of them got ill from altitude sickness. We had a bit more time at hand so we started with five days bike riding in the mountains in Vietnam from Sapa to Dien bien, then into... More

Qumolangma is the Tibetan name for Mount Everest and the whole reserve centres around the mountain range. Try and go early in the morning.

Driving through the nature reserve allows for some amazing photo ops. The mountains are amazing, especially on a clear day.

Difficult to get there but you get a religious feeling when you stand next to MtEverest on the roof of the world.

The only way to enter the reserve and make your way to EBC is either by foot or by the Environment Friendly bus provided by the park. The earlier you get there, the better the view as it starts getting cloudy as well as crowded by 9.00am.

This was my favourite place in Tibet. It is a long drive over a rough gravel road to get there (on the plus side, you will see some nice countryside too, but a 4x4 vehicle is recommended). The view you get will depend on the weather. We were very fortunate on this trip that we had perfect weather and were... More

Being in front of the highest peak on earth can only make you feel breathless, and not only because with the altitude. The place is BEAUTIFUL and special. You feel like you have reached one of the latest frontiers on earth. The way up is not challenging, but be careful with the altitude. 5.200 meters is not a joke and... More

The trip to the base camp was on my itinerary but had not been a focus of my visit to Tibet, and a long drive culminating in over three hours of the most bone shaking road was not exactly being eagerly anticipated. At best there was a 50% chance of seeing any mountains given the time of year. BUT when... More

We had the best view with clear blue sky in the late morning. What luck that was! I like that it was less developed. But the toilets could and should be done up to preserve the environment.

It is the Mt. Everest !! Went there last year on a trekking/hiking trip to Advanced Base camp. There is no place like Everest, most special about views from the North Side is, that Everest rules the horizon. Unlike south side view from Nepal, where one can only see only tip of it (unless you reach all they way up... More
