Went there at dusk. views from the bridge were outstanding as I walked along the bridge in both directions. Parking fee enforced by rando guy. very cheap. Hichem was responsible for taking me there. Can't say enough good things about him. He can be reached by WhatsApp at +213656374008, or you can reach me via messaging.

My second most favourite bridge in Constantine. Right up after Slimane Mellah footbridge. Either way, whether you prefer this one or the one I do, none of them is to be missed. Go up, cross it on foot and you will have one of the most dramatic views a bridge can offer.

In the late 1800s French engineers designed this elegant suspension bridge over the deepest part of the Oued Rhumel canyon. At that time it broke a world record (one can even wonder if it wasn't the real purpose of its construction). It's possible to drive on it (one lane, one way), but it's best to walk. On windy days, the bridge sways. There's another suspension bridge in Constantine, much smaller, the pedestrian-only Passerelle Perregaux between the old city and the railway station.

Enjoy the view of the great valley and part of the city during the day. But I don't recommend it at night
A place for suicide, place for families during the day and for gangsters at night. Place for drug and alcohol use beside the street corners..It's Algeria

This bridge is very accessible, being a short walk from the town centre. Cars can also use it but when I was there, traffic wasn’t an issue. Fabulous views in all directions.

Constantine is a very impressive city built on cliffs and almost over a canyon, so there are 7 beautiful bridges in the city. This can be counted as Nr 1. It is both for cars and pedestrians. There is a park overlooking the city at the end.

No other city on the African continent is more associated with high bridges than Constantine. Located about 80 kms from the Mediterranean coast, the city is unique for having a deep river gorge running right through its center.

Better known as gantrat al-Sbeitar (the Hospital's bridge) because the hospital is at the other end if you're headed from the blaad. It's the building with the domes and is one of the larger hospitals in the city. A taxi from the blaad costs 30 DA (not even 30 cents) per person, so its good and cheap. A lot of my advice is directed to women without a male presence. When it nears Maghreb time, or the setting of the sun, I'd avoid the walk up there from the blaad. This was advice I got from most police officers while with a cousin. The walk can be pretty long but is very beautiful, particularly considering the view of the mountains and the walk through the caves. The bridge is splendid. And subhan Allah, the view is fantastic. It's one of those places you dont want to miss if youre in the area. More advice I got from cops is not to linger around the bridge past Maghreb time (sunset). If youre looking to do that, I'd suggest making your way up to Monument aux Morts or visit a new local park with a wonderful view I need to add to the website.
