Visited Playa D’en Bossa beach this month and had high expectations after reading good reviews. I have to say I was sorely disappointed. The beach smells like sewage and has no promenade to walk along. There doesn’t seem to be any beach loungers for rent apart from the ones linked to bars along beach - and these are expensive! I was bitten by something on the beach which then went on to become badly affected. Would not recommend this beach.

We stayed at The Ibiza Twins 4* ( We opted for the B&B option). We can’t recommend highly enough it was incredible! The rooms are kept to a very high standard and the breakfast was so tasty/varied and generous drinks. We felt safe on the whole 3km beach, granted we were approached by various promotors for clubs, who can be persistent and intimidating if you’re on a family holiday. However, TOP TIP: if you say you’re going home the same day they leave you alone instantly when they realise they can’t sell you anything! Many great restaurants in the old town and so much variety but wait till around 8pm for the vibrant nightlife. If you’re eating out, Sa Cova tucked away in the quaint backstreets of the old town has to be the highlight! Be sensible and keep your wits about you as you would anywhere and you’ll be fine! We truly had an unforgettable holiday as a family of 5 (2 parents and 3 lads 23, 21 & 19 years old)

If you like a crowded beach, ridiculous prices and airplanes coming right over you should go here. Beach itself is a nice white stretch, full with beach clubs, plastic surgery, and loud music. Should really only go here if you want to feel better about yourself throwing it in big time. I feel like this is a really overrated place and the Salou or Lloret alternative for grown ups.

Narrow strip of beach, with dodgy traders. One hair weaver on the beach got very aggressive, which was horrible as I had my young child with me. I didnt feel safe enough to leave my stuff on the beach and dip into the water. Most people in the area were staying in their hotel pools rather than sitting on the beachfront. Easily the worst beach in Ibiza.

Staying as a family in self catering apartments. Apartments fine and no issue. Resort itself not pleasant. Appreciate it is the start of the season but beach horrific with loads of seaweed/algae, making it difficult at parts to even walk along. Not much choice for restaurants and prices ridiculous. Only positive for us was how close it was to Figueretas and Ibiza town which where lovely and much more reasonable in value. Not been here for over 20 years and from my point of view will not return.

Was shocked by how expensive Ibiza is. Example, €5-6 pint. €10 for a sunbed yet if you take a trip towards the Ibiza Old Town prices come down. I think what with all the masses of clubbers here the pubs and restaurants charge what they want

We stayed here for our annual 2 week holiday. It’s amazing. The are the big clubs like Hi Ibiza, Ushashuai etc and there are plenty of people on the streets trying to sell you tickets to get in to see the big DJs like Iris Elba, David Guetta etc, etc. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and beaches are great.

This is by far the filthiest beach I have ever seen in my life so far. It literally looks and smells like sewer. The only clean part of the beach is last kilometer towards the end, near that tower.
If there is a 0 rating, I would give it 0.
Usseless, if you like to swim avoid this nasty place by all means.

I was appalled at the decline in Playa D’En Bossa.

A few years ago, it was boozy, slightly tacky, but had a fun atmosphere - a teens and twenties playground. Now it’s just downmarket.

There are some large-scale, upmarket hotels on the main drag, but otherwise the strip was seedy and rundown.

The beach is blighted by aircraft coming in to land at the airport only a couple of miles away and by the thump-thump of competing sound systems from the big beach bars close to Playa d’En Bossa. You can walk along the beach away from it to get some peace.

However, you can’t get away from the beach hawkers, who are worse than mozzies and just as persistent. A strange discrimination seems to apply. Young white Europeans have the club ticket market. “Hello girls/lads. Where you from…”. “Well, my name’s Tom/Dick/Harriet and I’ve got you an amazing deal for tonight at (insert club of your choice)”.

South Americans lug Eskies full of drinks up and down the beach and also flog fruit cocktails.

Africans flog squares of cheap cloth. What they are supposed to be used for, who knows? They’re no use as beach towels. In three days in Playa D’en Bossa, I didn’t see any of them make a sale – not once. They also flog poor knock-offs of designer gear and cheap sunglasses. You’d need a stone heart not to feel sorry for the so-and-sos: to risk the Mediterranean crossing for this life! Still, the cumulative effect of the hassle removes any feeling of relaxation from your day on the beach.

As another poster has already mentioned, by nightfall the main strip has many dealers openly flogging drugs. Which, no doubt, are as dodgy as their designer gear.

There are some very nice places on Ibiza. You can do better than this dump.
