This was my first contact with ancient Egypt civilization and I was impressed. It is very close to the oldest pyramid - the step one and contains interesting exhibits.

This museum is on site at Saqquara near the step pyramid and other remains, It mainly features statues and other items recovered from here. Some of the pieces are nice like the wooden statues - its a small museum and very quiet so you can...More

Some of the best remaining hieroglyphics that you can experience outside of the museums. Don't miss all the tombs on the property.

First time back in Saqqara after several years. What a surprise: the Horemheb museum. Very neat, very well presented objects all found localy. Quality of the items unsurpassed, not even in the main museum in Cairo. Must be recommended. Small museum, but a real gem.

I went to see the egyptian museum right after visiting Imhotep museum. its quiet new and all things are laid perfectly as a normal museum demands unless like a chaos in cairo museum. This one worth a visit, less crowded

Everything in this museum was found at Saqqara. Small, well laid out, well displayed. My favorite is the first room, with reliefs and faience tiles from the chambers under the Djoser complex. Actual visit was Halloween 2011.

Saw this after the Egyptian museum - what a contrast! Although the Imhotep Museum can't compete with the EM's sheer number of artifacts, the IM's layout and design makes it much more legible. It was clean and organized, without the warehouse atmosphere of the EM....More
