We stayed for four nights this time and could have stayed for another week ! This place is so enchanting and peaceful by the river surrounded by trees and fields. Christine, Graham and James are wonderful hosts. The cabins are all lovely, well appointed and very comfortable. Highly recommended !

We stayed at the Tin Dragon Trail Cottages and while there took the time to follow one of the suggested walks. It was a chilly, wet day but lovely to set out along the river watching for fish and make our way to the trail through the bush. Historic and also a good way to stretch our legs after a... More

We really enjoyed staying in the cottage which was well insulated, beautifully constructed and named after one of the Chinese miners who once lived in the area. The surroundings are lovely with a herd of gorgeous alpacas just over the fence - we were even lucky enough to see a new-born! A delightful walk through the old tin mining trail... More

The History around this town is totally unknown outside and the history associated with the Tin Dragon cottages found out by the operators is fascinating, make sure you ask them lots of questions

You start by going into a nice hut that tells you a story of the person who mined the area (Great story about a Chinese man). Then you follow the sign posts around the trial that takes about half... Fascinating to see the water race that carried water for mines in Derby - a lot to learn about this forgotten corner of Aus!

The Heritage Walk and Settlers Hut gave us some insights into the Chinese tin miners who held leases to mine this area, and the hard life they led so far from home. The Briseis Race walk took us through magnificent ferns and sassafras, along the race built to deliver water to the Briseis mine. Mostly easy walking and magical understorey... More

Graham and Christine have created a great interpretation center focusing on the tin-mining history & Chinese heritage of the area. Very educational.
