Very unimpressed with the whole experience. First of all the ferry was late (almost 30 minutes) which was annoying although I have heard that happens quite frequently. We decided to treat us to the breakfast buffet- something which we intensely regretted. It was ridiculously expensive (199 DKK per person) with a poor variety of warm dishes and cold cuts. The impression was even worse because the dinner buffet likely is somewhat bigger and there were many empty slots in between the available dishes. Compared to other buffets at other ferries such as Color Line, it was nothing but a joke. I wanted to use my SMILE points when paying for breakfast, the cashier said yes but when I looked at the receipt after, the points had not been credited. The sitting area was also really uninviting with old tables and chairs. Only a minority of the passengers bothered to purchase the breakfast buffet- and I understand why; the free sitting area had much better sitting arrangements than us at the buffet area.

It is rather basic, and you don't have to many choices. You normally take the fish or the schnitzel. All to make the service fast. If you go directly and stay in the front of the line, it is no problem, but if you wait to long you will have some stress to eat in the short time available. The planning will include: WC, tax-free, eating. What first? What next?

This is in general, not about the buffet. I didn’t find any way to rate the ferry traveling in general. This is what I wrote to the company: 1. It was a mess to understand what type of ticket that was working. In the mail it was clear that the bar code wasn’t a functional ticket. It was also clear that we need to print or have at digital ticket. And it was no explanation how to get a digital ticket. Very useless of you! Then when we came to the ticket control, it worked perfect well with the one in the meal that shouldn’t work. How can you organise a company that work so bad?

2. Here I most say I can have read a little to quick. But I look for information about what’s happened if we comes earlier to the ferry, can we take that? All information I fund told me that it was not possible. We came a little earlier and it was no problem to take the earlier ferry. Why can’t you have easy information I’m the website?

3. If it was so easy to take the earlier ferry, why couldn’t we book it? It was not possible to book the day before. You could either be useless, or you have a system that’s work perfect for you but that’s not at all consumer based.

From today I will recommend everyone to go by car thru Jylland when travelling Denmark-Germany and vices versa

Bought flex ticket coffee included 25 euro 4 person.
Shop tells me i need to have a paper ticket to get the coffee and ofc we bought via phone 2023. Scammers

The tavern is expensive and the Gulasch is the worst i ever tasted. Slimy gelatin like, full of fatty bits, no meat.
It’s like the Danes still punish the Germans by massacring a Byerish iconic mel.

I strongly recommend to save the planet by bringing the bowl and jump overboard.

We took the train and got off for the ferry ride. The buffet food was all good. It's not a huge selection but there were enough choices for my taste.

Went Puttgarden Rodby with my family in July with the car on the ferry. Booked the VIP package (fast drive onboard, free coffee/softdrink voucher).Loading onto ferry on outwards trip smooth, excellent service on ferry. On return trip one week later however, was absolutely terrible. Boarding the ferry was fine, we went to the aft a la carte restaurant with our coffe vouchers. A friendly waiter told us that they normally only serve by the table, but since it was quite time, he most kindly produced two cappuccinos in paper mugs to go.
My partner and my boy went to the buffet as the boy had developed a hunger whilst I checked the tax free shop. Only a few minutes later I also came to the buffet were my partner was involved with an altercation with the cashier. He accused her of trying to steal a cup of coffee. This in spite of my partner explaining that we had gotten our VIP coffees in the aft restaurant. A young woman sales assistant in the buffet area had gotten involved accusing my partner of stealing, my partner told her also about the VIP ticket to which she replied that "they don't server coffee in paper cups". My partner offered to go back to the aft a la carte restaurant, but she was very rudely and brusquely told to "stay where you are".
When I arrived I quickly found out what the problem was, I (holding my identical coffee mug explained the situation and my partner went to our table.
She was very upset about the rudeness of the staff, the unfounded accusations, the way this all had played out in front of our boy (who also was shocked by the vitriol towards my partner). He wasn't interested in the food he had bought any more.
I told my partner that I would go to the buffet, which was empty of customers as it was about 23:00. three staff including the cashier were standing at the coffee machine. I explained the situation and also that I expected the rude woman (who meanwhile ghad ran back to check on the coffee situation and been told that, yes we had received two coffees) to apologise for her shocking behavior towards my partner.
I said that the situation could have been better handled, my partner could have explained (had she known that the coffee mugs between aft and buffet were identical) that she brought the coffee with her to arrange dinner for our boy.

The woman refused to apologize to my partner. I am Caucasian and my partner and our son are dark skinned. This was a very clear case of racism (they alluded "black people are thieves"). The shocking thing was that when I with my pale skin explained the situation it was immediately cleared up. As if I have to speak for my partner (we are partners with equal standing). Just because of my pale skin I apparently carried more authority.
How the food tasted is unknown as the boy had lost his appetite.

A very disappointing and shocking experience for us all.

And refusing to apologise making it even worse. As if they were right and my partner wrong.

The ferry to Rodby from Puttgarden was easy to book and the entire process was good. Didn't have to do much as I simply booked online.

The buffet on the ferry was.very crowded due to the fact that the coffee bars were not open. With the long lines the experience gets tempered
