    Breathtaking!
We got there before the crowds in the morning and it was breathtaking! We spent a bit of time snorkeling and admiring the rock formations. The lake is very deep but the water is warm. We got a private tour so we managed to arrive early in the morning and we had 20 minutes at the lake just by ourselves and after that the crowds arrived.

    An Interesting Experience
Barracuda Lake no longer has any Barracuda so those of you afraid of swimming in water along with big fish that have teeth: forget it🙂 I scuba dived there as part of a dive package with a local dive centre and even though the is little to nothing to see: it is an interesting experience. The water is clear although not exactly 'crystal', full of small catfish and the odd shrimp, what is an experience is the variation in water temperature. This is the first time in many years of diving where I have actually started sweating inside my mask as the water is places hits 40c plus then drops again to low 20s as you fin along. You can see the thermals throughout as you explore the area. You can see where the hot water comes in and forms 'streams' within water, a very interesting view as it looks like a mountain side with numerous streams of water flowing down the face, but you are actually surrounded by water. If you are in Coron and feel like getting wet: Barracuda lake is well worth a visit.

    Mystical Baracuda Lake
Baracuda lake is a unique dive famous for its thermocline, i.e., the water temperature varies at different layers and becomes warmer as you go deeper. It has a depth of about 40 m deep which makes it exciting since you can’t see what’s in the bottom. But around the sides, You can see sharp limestone cliffs under water. But certainly, no Baracudas, although there are rumors that a huge Baracuda skeleton was found in the lake.

    Amazing!!
I have visited the lake twice, one in the morning (around 9:30am), one in the afternoon (around 3:30pm). Go in the morning!!!! Less crowds and the whole area is sun-lit, you can see sun rays penetrating through the azure water and that is what this lake is all about. It was very dark and uninviting in the afternoon, even though the water still has amazing visibility.

Similar rock formation as Kayangan Lake but much deeper
We went first to Kayangan Lake before visiting Barracuda. They both have similar limestone rock formation the difference being thar Barracuda lake is so much more deeper! The rock formation is just as dramatic. An important note is that the steps to get to Barracuda lake is a lot harder to climb than Kayangan. They are narrow, irregular and slippery. So if you’re short for time, i would suggest visiting Kayangan Lake rather than Barracuda

    Nice for a Short Stop
Barracuda Lake is one of the smaller stops but worth it. The stairs can be a little tough but on you are on the swim platform you will enjoy it. There are a few place near the rocks that are a good place to relax. If you dive down in the lake the water gets noticeable warmer.

Nice to swim but who tf brought a cat?
We had a nice time swimming there even though it gets crowded after 9am. The rock formation are impressive. While we waited for our guide at the dock we saw an extremely skinny black cat there. Who would bring it here - what's wrong with people - there is no food or water. Our guide refused to take him back to shore with us for no reason. If you have a good heart and a nicer guide, please don't leave it there!

    A Unique Dive!
This is a magical little spot that MUST be on your dive list during your time in Coron. Perfect for families. The diving is unlike any other dive spot I've ever seen! Thermoclines, solitary barracuda, other-worldly critters - it is mesmerizing.

    Beautiful rock formation underwater
We joined an ultimate Coron tour which included a stop at Barracuda Lake. Not too crowded when we arrived around 11am on a weekday. Interesting rock formation underwater, and great to take photos as if you are doing rock climbing underwater. We did not free dive too deep, but 2-3m depth is good enough for taking photos

    Yes, the Barracuda Exists!
This was my third time visiting Barracuda lake. All this time, I thought the Barracuda was a myth. The place was more known for the underwater architecture and rock formations, but I was pleasantly surprised to have finally witnessed the barracuda. It took about 1.5 hours of just floating around and looking when the barracuda finally showed itself. With enough patience, you can catch a glimpse of it too!

Visited & dived Barracuda Lake with the awesome team from Sangat Island Dive Resort. It’s a beautiful spot, fantastic visibility in the clear blue water & spectacular underwater karst formations - plus it is a unique experience to dive in & through the thermocline.

We really enjoyed the experience - it’s worth doing once.

It was an interesting dive, the change in temperature within a few meters was amazing. Not much to see as a diver and a long way to swim and then climb on a homemade stairs with all you gear on. i would consider it a one time dive just to cross it off the list.
