This is an interesting attraction and one that requires a certain type of 'outlook', I feel to properly appreciate it.

Firstly, check carefully with the trike driver before agreeing a fare to go otherwise, they'll likely be an argument at the end over cost, specifically the waiting time, as I experienced.

Secondly, it's a Tourist attraction in a poor country, so don't expect to get in for free as the Philippines is hardly wallowing in riches. Pay the money and smile graciously, 200 php is hardly going to break the bank!

Also, it's gonna be busy, as it's a TOURIST ATTRACTION, so lots of people from all over the world will likely have the same idea in visiting. This for me is really what it's all about as I'm a chatty soul who can make conversation with a stone if need be.

Happily that day, I met not only a lovely group of mature and attractive Japanese Ladies (see pics!), but also a lovely couple that I arranged to meet later for dinner.

Surely, that is the essence of real travel, not the geography of the land but the people that inhabit and visit it?

Put simply, If you're just a 'tick-list' traveller, then this particular attraction may not be for you.

Other little negatives are Yes, it is hot but, perhaps the title rather gives the reason away. Lol!

There could be more toilets and changing rooms and the guard on sentry duty when first entering was more than a little officious but again, as long as you don't actually drink the water, as an experience, well worth the visit I felt.

As always, happy and safe travelling.

Phil

Postscript.

Whilst chatting to the couple, I discovered that the chap enjoyed drawing and painting. Rather cheekily, I asked him to paint me a watercolour picture of the springs, this even though we were both due to move on in a day or so.

Unbelievably, the finished result was (hesitantly) given to me when we met for dinner later that evening. I love it and it's now framed and proudly adorning a wall in my Living Room (See Pics).

As I had little to offer in return bar the meal, I offered to sing to them in the restaurant as a thank you. An unequal exchange perhaps, but I got a big hug from each of them in return so I guess, it wasn't such a poor exchange after all.

Now that, is a travel memory born of being in the right place, at the right time, dressed in little more than a ever present smile!

Ergo...You are not defined by what you possess, but by what imprint you leave when you do. (PC, September 2020)

This place is further away from the main town, so you will need to arrange transport to get to here. The tricycle is around 350 pesos per person round trip from the town. The driver will wait for you until you finish soaking. Although I would recommend getting a town trip package instead because the transport is better. The road going to the hot spring is quite rough so a tricycle ride can be a pain. There is a 120 pesos entrance fee to be paid at the door. They have a couple of changing rooms in there and a cold shower by the pools in case the water in the pool gets too warm for you. They recommend a maximum of 10 minutes dipping in the hot spring, come out for 10 minutes before dipping again to prevent dehydration. I will recommend bringing a bottle of water with you when you go here. It is also a lot nicer to soak in the evening rather than during the day because it can get too hot during the day. There is a place where you can do barbecue although we did not get to use it. There is also a mini store there in case you get hungry from all the soaking in the hot spring

We spent some time here today and we loved it! Our Tricycle ride from the lodging was $P700 but that includes Round Trip and waiting. Well worth it. It's way past Coron Town itself. Not great road either, again, worth it. The cost today was $P250 each. We were there about an hour or more. The pool on the left side approaching was 43 degrees (centigrade 109.4 F); big pool is 41 (or 105.8) and the smaller pool on the right was 38 (100.4) The smaller pool was the best for me although the big pool felt quite good also. There's a bamboo walkway out to the bay, a terrific view, and a stairway behind the pools we didn't take so "?". Dressing Rooms available, and a shower line to rinse off and cool down. Also, there is a small store, we got a small water @$P40. If you have water shoes that helps.

Maquinit is about 30 min out of Coron Central. Hire a tricycle but make sure you pay the RETURN fare. The trip out is interesting. You go through the "suburbs" with all the people, homes and shops. The roads are not wide and there can be some stops to wait for oncoming traffic or parked vans or slow dogs. And after a bit the road becomes dirt with potholes. We admired the skill of the driver who avoided most potholes to save our back and his vehicle. Once out at the springs the diver said he would wait an hour and pointed to where he would. Take note, as when it gets dark and there are lots of vans and trikes, you need to find your ride home. As our driver didnt ask for any money upfront, we were fairly sure of a ride home.
The hotsprings are P200. There are changing rooms and a basic open air mist shower. We didnt find the changing rooms smelly or unclean.
The pools are busy. There are a lot of people but the springs are large and the water flow keeps the pools clean. We had a nice relaxing soak for 45min or so. Then we changed found our driver and drove back. I would recommend getting a trike rather than hiring a scooter. Much of the road is dirt and potholed with lots of traffic, people and dogs.

This is the only salt water hot spring I have ever been to. Popular time to come here is around sunset, and can get pretty crowded so you may want to come earlier in the day. Perfect place to soak your tired muscles from a full day if adventure!

Nice view around but the pools were crowded late afternoon after sunset. Ticket 200 Peso per person. They have changing room so I changed to my swimsuit there. We arrived by private tricycle from Coron our hotel booked for us, cost 400 or 500 Peso return trip, sorry I can't remember the price well.

We arrived at 5pm and it was starting to get a little busy. It is huge- even if it’s busy there is tons of space. When the sun went down it got very busy, we left at about 6:20pm. It was a very relaxing evening.

The water was definitely warm but there was a nice breeze off the water that kept everything nice and cool!

We were in Coron during a typhoon on all boats were grounded from the sea.

We went here before they also closed it and was ok. I've been to better but if you have time and want to indulge, it's a fine way to pass the time.

If you have a tight itinerary I would pass and go somewhere on the sea or to another island instead.

The springs themselves was fine. Alot of people but a relaxing end to the day for 2-3 hrs.

A must do! Incredible relaxing atmosphere and experience. 200 peso entrance fee and no toutes selling you stuff. Peaceful and tranquil and the water is lush. It gets hot so dip in and out and you can stay as long or little as possible. Head there around 4 pm as it gets busy later on.

This was the last stop for a city tour. We arrived 6pm and was given an hour to relax in this natural Hotspring. Great place to soak for an hour after a hectic day. The temperature of the water is warm and not too hot. The pool is big and hence we have lots of space even though it’s quite crowded. Entrance fee is PHP200 for full day if you visit on your own. Overall a good experience here
