This is amazing! The cemetery looks like a town. However, no one leaves his tomb. I had never seen such a cemetery. There were tombs at the front, tombs in the middle and tombs way high. Wow! People who drive by, and they always look...More

We did a quick visit while on our way to Castle Point and St Anne's. This is one of the most unusual graveyards I have ever seen. I love old cemetery's that have above the ground vaults to bury their dead. Each grave is different...More

We passed this amazing cemetery on an island tour and naturally stopped to take a look. The cemetery represents the unique black and white architecture of the West Indies.

Morne à l'eau is well known for this funeral heritage with black and white graves in the main cemetery on a hillside. The graves will be illuminated on the eve of all saints day.

This turned out to be a delightful and interesting stop. All the tombs are unique, and we could have spent much more time there investigating them all.

We took a two hour round trip to get here on a cloudy day. It is remarkable and unique in my experience. It is worth a visit although the area around the parking up the back street is a bit gritty. We just parked on...More

The parking is hard to find but this is well worth the stop. Once in the Cemetary you walk up stairs and just see how large the area actually is and I would guess thousands of black and white graves.

Make a stop at this design-y eternal resting place for it's black & white gravestones. Like being in a Lewis Carrol story or a checkerboard-themed park. Built on a hill overlooking a busy traffic circle. Take 30 minutes to stroll among the family graves, admiring...More
