Was skeptical upon driving up, but the experience was great. Been zip lining multiple places and these were by far the longest lines I have ever done. The team was great, very friendly. We went early in morning which I would recommend since it gets hot later in the day. Highly recommend this trip. Was not crowded, only 12 people in our group which was also a plus.

We came on a very windy day for zip lining. The team is very polite and friendly and safety is their priority. The zip line course is 10-11 lines including two short ones. Some are very long and high with views of the ocean. The team handled the high wind by having us double up on some lines, which helped us keep our speed and stay straight. We were grouped with two other families with children, including a 7-year old. They all had fun and the staff took good care of them.

Our family of four (kids ages 7 and 10) had the best day yet at Pura Adventura. We completed an all day package of horseback riding, ATV, and Zipline. All 3 activities were well guided (extra special attention to the kiddos), and so much fun. We all felt safe, comfortable- regardless of ability levels, and given the upmost attention. Fresh fruit was served after each activity, and the outdoor deck was the perfect resting spot between activities. Highly Recommended- all ages will have a blast!

My girlfriend and I went to Costa Rica early this month and wanted to do something else to get a break from surfing. We went to Pura Aventura on June 12th of 2011 to do the canopy tour. The zip lines were great and we had fun, but this review is not for that.

Fast forward to two weeks later and we are now back in the US. A couple of days ago we get an email from our personal Costa Rica guide who set up the canopy tour for us saying that Pura Aventura passed by the hotel we stayed at asking for our payment. Our poor guide has asked us to send him our receipt number so that he had proof but unfortunately we lost it. Pura Aventura has told him that he (our guide who set it all up) had to pay for the $100 because they are unwilling to look at their records to check the charge to my card!!! I believe that it is neither my responsibility nor my guide's to keep track of who paid or didn't pay because that is THEIR job. I am now currently getting my billing statement records for proof (a hassle on my part) that I paid, so that my guide will be charged. What a bunch of jerks.

Another thing that I have noticed is the attitude of the non costa rican people that work for them. One of their American guides bragged to us that he feels great surfing in Costa Rica because he isn't scared of getting into a fight with locals because they are "smaller" than him. The comment reeked of arrogance and unprofessionalism, it was disgusting. Needless to say I do not recommend dealing with these people if you don't have to.The canopy tour is fun but nothing out of the ordinary from all the other ziplines i've tried.

My wife and I visited Tamarindo last month and we wanted to do some zip-lining. We set up the trip and were picked up at our hotel. The weather turned pretty nasty (as it can in the rainy season) and we ended up getting caught in a bad thunderstorm. We were 4 ziplines away from a point we could evacuate the mountain. Byron and our other guide were complete professionals and made sure we were safe and wouldn't get zapped by the lightning. Byron was unclipping his harness and ended up getting shocked when lightning struck a cable. We were all in shock but he focused on getting us off the mountain. We got back safe to the lodge and we were greated with warm coffee and fresh fruit. Since we weren't able to get a full tour in due to the weather they had us come back a day later and do the tour when it wasn't raining. I would highly recommend this place. I have done several other zip line tours in Costa Rica and this is by far the best.

Amazing experience! Our family of five zip lined for the first time ever and absolutely loved it. There are 11 lines, with a couple being very short and 3-4 being quite long. They have double cables which made me feel much better about choosing this company for safety purposes. Diego was our primary guide (we also had Chicken legs/wings? with us who was fantastic, too, as well as our wonderful cinematographer). I have a special needs son and Diego was beyond incredible with him, making him feel comfortable even after he "didn't like" the first run. Won him over quickly and even had him go by himself on one of the short runs! My older son was able to ride most of the lines by himself except the very longest (didn't weigh enough) and my daughter chose to ride upside down on the very last run. We all had a blast and got some fantastic pictures and a couple of videos from the experience that we will forever treasure. Cannot recommend this company and this experience enough! Quick tip: prepay online using paypal and you get a free CD with pictures and videos of your group from their photographer.

We took our family of 6 to the adventure park for the day. We started with the ziplines and the staff was super friendly and helpful with all family members which included an 8, 10 and 14 year old. There were 7 zip lines of various sizes and an opportunity for rappelling and rock climbing half way through. It took some time waiting for the rock climbers before continuing. We then rode horses for approximately an hour down to the river for another hour of tubing which was so much fun and refreshing in the clear waters. Lunch was good with lots of options and the final visit to the mineral baths was a nice relaxing way to spend the day. We came from Tamarindo and the drive is about 1.5 hours each way but, this was the best tour our families have done and all age groups loved the entire day.

We rode ATV's and ZipLines. A member of our group was seriously injured (rolled ATV and landed on top of them) when our guide took the front part of our group on a trail from the main trail and did not wait for all members of our party to catch up. 2 people from our group were left behind, became lost and ended up on a very dangerous path. This could have been avoided with one addt'l member of the staff following behind aswe were a large group. The injured person was clearly in bad shape (cut-up, bleeding from arms and legs looked like an arm could be broken & unable to walk or ride the ATV back to the ranch.)

Thank you for your review about the ATV tour. We have looked into the safety factor of having ATVs and the unknown variable such as rider experience. We have decided to end our ATV tour and introduce mountain biking instead, as well as other tours that will be focused on the absolute safety of our guests. We apologize for the below par experience you may have had and would like to invite your family back to be our guests if and when you are in the area again. Again, thank you for your review so that we may make the best experience possible for our guests. Sincerely, Joey Barbour Operations Manager

My family and I did this ziplining and were pretty disappointed. I believe they say their maximum is 30 people but our group had more than that. The tour felt rushed, even with lots of standing around because of so many people. The guides were great, and tried to make the tour fun, but in the end, it was just too many folks. I would also not recommend if you have kids (anyone under 100lbs) as they go with a guide at upwards of 3-4 kids at a time. We did ziplining down in Quepos as well and if you are able, it is so much more beautiful and enjoyable. This is simply not worth the cost.

Hello Theos, Thank you for giving an honest review. I'm very sorry to hear that you were not totally satisfy with our service, we always tried to do our best and we appreciate any comment. We usually don't go with more that 30 people on each tour but we can actually take up to 60. Any tour is different, not sure what happened in yours but depending on the people it might go faster or slower, specially when we have young kids.
