We visited this place on a normal Sunday to go out. It is easy to find there. There are quiet a few parking slots available. The place is in a nice surrounding. There are different programs as 4d cinema, several routes to walk and a guided tour. The guided tour is very informative and shows many interesting fossils. It takes an hour and available in Hungarian. As part of it is in the forest and inside an extra sweater for kids recommended as it is a bit cold inside. The cinema takes only 10 minutes and not too exciting, just a short animation. There is a restaurant next to the main building, but we did not try it. There us also a playground available which contains many fun for kids. Ours liked it a lot. Over all it is ok we liked it, but not outstanding experience. It is a 4 for me!

Much improved over the last few years, although the cafe/restaurant couldn't serve us because there were lots of people and only one young girl working.

The 4-D presentation is excellent, and the interpretation are most informative. There's a treetop walkway which is great fun, and a walk through a Miocene Forest area (still under construction) with replica animals from the period.

This time, we didn't walk up to the fossils area, although it is well worth the trip.

Certainly a worthy destination for a family with children, or anyone who's interested in fossils or the prehistoric state of this part of Hungary.

Ipolytarnoc is a tiny village in Hungary. The fossils are very interesting and the view is wonderful. The nature is impressive, and the 4 dimension cinema is good fun. If you really would like to visit to an amazing place in Hungary you must go to Ipolytarnoc! Some attractions are free!
