- Purmerend2016Ibiza Town, Spain95 contributionsGreat jobPlayed twice this week at Anfi Tauro golf. What a challenging job this remains The course is well maintained, greens in excellent condition Extremely challenging for the more advanced golfer, play twice and use a total of three balls 😉 The views are also fantastic, in short, a top course. Buggy is absolutely necessary Slightly less positive about the catering establishment, part of Anfi, staff distant and somewhat surly, not much fantasy in food, but after a round of golf at least the option for a small alcoholic drinkVisited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 11, 2024
- Stuart HBourne, United Kingdom2 contributionsAmazing course!Decided to treat myself to a round of golf, and this course looked amazing from the reviews and their website. It did not disappoint. Friendly welcome, very decent set of hire clubs, TaylorMade Sim2 max graphite full set, thinking of changing my driver now! The course itself is more spectacular than it looks in photos, and was in great condition. Greens are very tricky, and my putting leaves a lot to be desired at the best of times, but a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Great pro shop too, i could have spent a fortune!Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 29, 2024
- laretalBasildon, United Kingdom138 contributionsWonderful challenge.Fabulous golf course. Well maintained and challenging. Parts of it are cut high into the side of the mountain. Terrific views over land and sea. Not cheap and you will need several golf balls on this difficult course but a wonderful experience.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 14, 2024
- laurencef102Carlisle, United Kingdom3 contributionsAmazing golf course not to be missedI was part of group of 3 couples who Played Anfi Tauro today for the first time . We all came off after our round saying the course was amazing . Holes in dramatic situations and every hole a delight to play. Well done to the designers and constructors of this wonderful course. Also well done to the staff who ensured our day was enjoyable L F , Cumbria, EnglandVisited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 26, 2024
- Manuela MBavaria, Germany117 contributionsChallenging greens, sometimes narrow tracks. It's fun!The place is currently in very good condition. Greens are well maintained, the fairway as well as the tees. The course has very interesting holes and challenges good players to play their single HCPs. Again and again I grit my teeth on this course, as the greens are unusually undulated for me and my husband. If the ball is in the wrong place on the green, it can very quickly become a three-putt, because the greens are very fast downhill and the ball is therefore hard to hold. It requires a lot of feeling and also practice to putt the balls well to the hole. Some holes are very tight, here the club choice has to be reconsidered if you can do long strokes ;-) The challenge is that the course is simply scored and unfortunately you don't get any more strokes. That means you definitely have to play your actual HCP. A point deduction is given for plugging the tea boxes. The course decidedly has no more HCP limitation to make. The tea boxes are stuck forward at many holes. We then decided ourselves to choose the tee shot here and there differently (further back) than was put. In addition, court workers have taken no account of the gameplay. Sometimes longer the greens blocked and even when they were finished they didn't go to the side properly. We will definitely come back, it is a lot of fun. One or two more balls in the luggage are recommended if the drive is not stable but long at the moment.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 19, 2024
- Charles A3 contributionsGreat CoursePlayed the course in January 2025, read reviews that it was slow so we tee'ed off at 8.15 and got around in 3 hours 15. The hole signs are now in place which was another previous poor review and this problem is now sorted and there are very clear signs to the next hole. The course was challenging and the greens were tricky, but thoroughly enjoyed the course and will go back and play again. Second Favourite course on Gran Canaria, just wished I had played better!Visited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten January 22, 2025
- Robert MLloret de Mar, Spain5 contributionsFantastic golf courseCan’t overstate how much I enjoyed the course and overall experience… Got to the course at approx 8.15 am just as the sun was coming over the hills and rocks … was absolutely stunning. The condition of the course was faultless, the greens were fantastic with zero pitch marks . Especially enjoyed how some of the greens appear to be cut into the rock and the elevated tees… 1 of the best golf courses I’ve ever played and hopefully will play again in the futureVisited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten January 28, 2025

I played this course for the first time yesterday and felt compelled to leave a review.
The course is visually stunning having been designed and laid out in the mountains, some of the views are spectacular. I’ve given it a 5 star review for that alone, but there’s a lot to be improved in the management of tee times and pace of play.
I wasn’t particularly a fan of the type of grass used on the fairways, it just explodes when you hit through it and there’s no divot to replace.
The greens were pretty slick and I 3 putted a few times with being over cautious then over bold.
Overall, I’d suggest it’s a must play if you are a golfer holidaying in GC, but can I suggest that you pay attention to the score card and play from the tees that are recommended towards your handicap.
The pace of play was tedious and we putted out in the dark on 18, holiday golf I suppose.
That said, the resort really need to reconsider how they operate.
They sell a twilight tee time from 3.00pm (which is what I had) but there is zero chance of getting 18 holes played at the pace we had to endure yesterday. I teed off slightly early and managed to make a 3 ball with the game ahead when I caught up with them, if it hadn’t been for that, my round would have finished after 15 holes.
I also played Salobre this trip and they start their twilight times ate 2.30pm…Tauro should take note of that.
The resort are simply too greedy for the maximum green fees, they are sending out 4 ball games at 3.00pm and 3.08pm (8 minute gaps are not enough for 4ball golf) when they absolutely know that those games have a very limited chance of getting all 18 played.

This is a must play course if you are visiting Gran Canaria. Fantastic views and wonderful course design. Absolutely breathtaking. A good player always has a risk shot and a safe shot- giving something to think about on every hole! In good condition, although the soft greens can take a battering from the many rounds played here. Buggy only course. You will see why when you take the path up to the highest tees and drive down about 40 metres to the fairway , or try and work out what to hit to the par-3 holes 25/30 metres below the tee. You have a feeling of being in the Arizona desert while playing between the steep rocks or through the cactus and palm trees which line the fairways. An experience never forgotten. It`s tricky but by choosing the right tee all hcps. can have a good time and make some points. Of course the further back you go , the more exciting the drives become.
There is one problem at Anfi which is good to know. The driving range is a good kilometer away from the clubhouse and buggies are not allowed on the public road which is the only way to get there. There are taxis that will run you up and down the hill for 3 Euros and the staff at the driving range will order one for you.
Don´t miss out on the Par-3 course. It´s an absolute gem, with two sets of tees so 18 holes is a challenge and most enjoyable, with water hazards to cross and flowers and palm trees to negotiate. Thanks to everyone at Anfi for three geat days!

Great layout, expensive like every golf course in the Canaries, but certainly worth playing. Condition quite good, layout and variety fantastic. I played solo in January 2021 (4 rounds) and the course was medium busy but acceptable. You need a buggy but because the restaurant was closed, the buggy only cost €10 which is very reasonable. I'm an 11 handicapper, swing speed close to 100mph, average drive really about 230 yards (of course, I fool myself and think over 250 yards :-)) and the course is much better from the back sticks (white), even though they encourage you to play off the yellow sticks. The course has most holes going either uphill or downhill but the prevailing wind coming in from the sea helps on the uphills and hurts on the downhills, which is an ideal mix. In addition, it is not as windy as other parts (particularly the Meloneras course which I also played), the course being cut out into a valley between mountains. The greens are good but not great (Meloneras better) and the general fairways and condition were also good. The course is run more like a hotel, so doesn't have that golfer restaurant/bar type set up looking over the 18th green, so not ideal for groups wanting to socialise immediately afterward. The practice facilities are a bit away from the course but they are good, decent range and practice green. Great service and best prices from teetimes.pt

Twilight golf.
We booked a tee time at 15.00 ton the 10th of February.
Arrived in good time and was met by a caddie assistant who was very polite and helpful and explained everything to us newcomers. A drink before tee off at the bar and a friendly waiter as well as the boy in the reception. Well out on the course we thought it was a real treat with fast true greens. Overall good finish, missed somewhere to buy a drink on the course though. Pace of play wasn’t great. 20 minutes to 7 we got a message that all should return in be in at the clubhouse by seven. I had no intention not to finish the game I paid for so we played out all 18 and arrived at the clubhouse by 20 minutes past 7. Then I got a yelling from the Caddiemaster in a very rude manor that I was supposed to be back by 7. This person has clearly not understand his profession, he is there for the customers. And the customers are always right. This man should be removed from any contact with customers by the management! Apart from this man our visit was good.

The tees, fairways and greens were exceptional. Staff were polite and pleasant…….. however, thats where the good bits end. The course is weirdly set out, pro shop, parking and buggies is inconvenient and strange. The course is not picturesque. Miss any fairway and you are just in gravel. Main complaint though is slow play and no marshall. If I’m paying €140 I expect a marshall to stop ancient old people who xant play yet insist on parking buggies in front of greens and pulling the flag out so they can score a 9!
At one point we had 5 groups on one hole. Wont ever return I’m afraid

The spectacular of the place was taken away from him by structural adjustments - with it you can chase through even more flights, which of course brings money. The price is now simply excessive. Each slot is clocked at 8 minutes, although at some holes it takes 3 minutes to ride the buggy alone. The Marshall behaves presumptuously, outrageously and absolutely inappropriately.m to allegedly speed up the game. Basically right, but the tone makes the music. You could also change the clock to 10 minutes. That would bring relaxation overall. After all, you leave a lot of money here. The buggies are ailing and the brakes only work if you talk them into it well. Some bunkers are littered with weeds, raking is rather rare - perhaps also to speed up the flow of the game? All in all: you don't have to do it anymore.

We have been playing this course for 4 years, and the formerly fantastic layout has been changed due to greed for money (whipping through many players) and the associated structural changes (trees , rocks, cacti have been removed, bunkers straightened, etc)
destroyed. The lack of space maintenance, the unclean toilets and the unprofessionalism of the newly hired employees speak for themselves.
Sometimes it stinks extremely of Kloake on the practice track and also on the former 5 star course. The average lap time for 18 holes is over 5 hours.
Prices are now very high, but there are the oldest and worn-out buggies on the island.

I played three courses in Gran Canaria last week and this is one to avoid. The buggies were dirty and not in good condition. The layout is confusing with a disconnect between the practice area and the first tee. At the first tee there were several groups waiting to play. When we did get away, there were three groups playing the first hole. It took one hour to play holes one and two. I called the pro-shop and asked if they could send out a course ranger. The man arrived ten minutes later. I spoke to him about the pace of play. He said "there were 260 people booked on the course and what did I expect" I suppose I expected him to do his job and be courteous.
It took five hours and 15 minutes to play the course. It is a shame to give green fees to courses that have no regard for their clients.

Too many people booked on - took us 5 1/2 hours to complete - was waiting at every single hole….
Seems like they are trying to cram as many people in as they possibly can.
Also not many toilets around.
Would have been much better if there had been a better flow of pay.

Anfi has retained its greedy policy of charging non-golfers to ride in the golf buggy with partners. What a disgrace. With a current green fee of 140 euros, they still have the audacity and greed to charge 20 euros per person for the golf buggy, regardless if you are playing or just accompanying someone on the course. Hang your heads in shame, Anfi. Have you not heard of the cost of living crisis and consider the money you are losing because couples who are not both golfers will not pay 180 Euros to go around your course. 180 euros is almost £160 Pounds for a round, the course is nice but it isnt St Andrews or Gleneagles. Get a grip Anfi.

Hi, I’m visiting Gran Canaria soon and am trying to decide whether to play Maspalomas golf course or ANFI Tauro? Also, is club rental decent? Thanks everyone.
Written May 8, 2018
Maspalomas is near the famous dunes and I suspect is quite a benign course, where as Anfi Tauro which I played is quite challenging being built on and around volcanic lava - it is somewhere between a high quality resort course and a championship course. Quite a few straightforward holes but a few really challenging ones. We played in late April and the golf scene in Gran Canaria was quite quiet so as the heat builds I suspect you will find booking a tee time relatively easy. We took our own clubs but the pro shop at Anfi Tauro is well equipped and I would expect they have good clubs for rental.
