I was pleasantly surprised by our ride into the highlands. Our host was knowledgeable and led us on a ‘true’ trail ride through territory we wouldn’t have seen except by horse. The ponies were sturdy and well behaved, taking us through bogs, on trails, and along steep drops.

£180 for three of us for two hour ‘lesson’/trek. What we got: 90 minutes (that’s being generous) on gravel trail pretty much just walking all the way. No teaching or even tips at all and both my kids got scratched faces from their ponies dragging them under trees. Nice scenery
