Great service
Aug 2017 • Solo
I attended wordship service with my kitten . The service was very well attended. I knew 4 out of 5 of the hymns.I enjoy hearing God's word spoken. The sermon was inspirational. My kitten was very well behaved. He had a great time after the service. He was taken for a walk around the church by a member of the congregation. A lot of people said it was the first time they had seen a kitten in church. I was invited to stay for tea after the service. I met some great people, Morag, Magda, Mary, Ros and more whose names I forgot.
If you are in Rosyth on a Sunday morning, please attend service at Rosyth Parish Church. I was glad I did.

Rosyth Parish Church has been at the heart of the "Garden City" since it was opened by Mottram in 1930,a pupil of Unwin who had created the concept. With the building of Rosyth Dockyard 1909-1916 the population of the town expanded considerably. This Church has a Dutch look with its Square Tower, copper roof, teak belfry etc.The heritage funding has tackled the dry rot and brought in modern heating. The congregation had to move out for 11 years. This year the Church played a major role in the Remembrance of the Battle of Jutland 1916 and Princess Anne and the First Minister attended. There Are now memorial plaques.Sunday Services are at 1030am.

An Informal Church.

Many Churches in Rosyth look familiar which reflects the fact they were designed by Mottram architects in the 1920s.Rosyth Baptist Church, opened in 1923, near Tesco and directly opposite the Methodist Church in Queensferry Road not only has a popular Sunday School but caters for the Chinese Christian Fellowship. The main Sunday Service is at 11am.The Church is friendly and welcoming and has Believers Baptism. The harled masonry, exposed timber framed roof and rectangular chapel are much like St John's RC Church nearby. The coming of Rosyth Dockyard in 1916 saw a rapid expansion in Churches in the town.
