St Erat,a follower of St Ninian, established a Church at neighbouring Inverkeithing as early as the 5th century. There was a Church of St John's in Rosyth as far back as the 12th century with land given by the Augustinian Abbey on Inchcolm Island.St John and St Columba's,know to everyone as St John's,was built in 1926 as the Rosyth Naval Dockyard and base made the local population rocket as preparations were made 1909-1916 for the Great War.St John's Primary was adjacent and built in 1919 though it moved to a new building in 1988.Holy Mass is on a Sunday at 11am as the same Priest takes mass at St Peter In Chains Inverkeithing at 930am.

This active church sits in a relatively new building (in the last 25 years ) serving the community with a thriving congregation serving the surrounding communities ,Crombie,Charlestown,Limekilns,North Queensferry ,Hillend and Dalgety Bay . The Church has an active website of Mass times and the sacraments also a short history . I could find no details of the community of the church with meetings or groups
