We truly enjoyed our half day snorkeling and pizza trip with ocean surfafari. Our captain was Juan and he truly made the trip easy and enjoyable. He was very clear with all his instructions to make sure that everyone was safe on board. We first went from Saint Thomas to St. John’s to pick up a few passengers, followed by ceiling around the island where the Captain told us stories about the history of the island and people who lived there over the years. We then had two stops for snorkeling and then had the traditional pizza and then watched the sunset in a perfect location. From that moment on, he played dance music and between the drinks and the music everybody had an excellent time all the way through our return to the island. I was a little skeptical of taking these types of tours, but we really had a wonderful time and felt very safe throughout our journey. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting St. John or St. Thomas Island.

We have been carefully staying indoors during this strange time of the pandemic and decided to treat ourselves and our family to this evening delight. Such a good decision! They cruised over to Great St James Island and stopped at Christmas Cove where we were served delicious painkillers and then yummy pizza from the famous Pizza Pi boat anchored nearby. The crew was great...funny and attentive and yet clearly very safety conscious, with detailed instructions on safety. One crew member actually ran across the street to buy an infant size life vest for our 8 month old grandchild to be sure they had exactly the right size for the littlest passenger! Everyone aboard obviously was having a great time, from locals to tourists. Plenty of shade. Then Glorious views as we sailed over to the Congo & Lovongo cays for a perfect view of the sunset, past those striking cliffs rising out of the sea. All in all it was a perfect way to spend an afternoon & evening. Highly recommended.

Awesome day fishing with Captain Rob Usnick of Ocean Safari Charters. He took our group out on a last minute-short notice reservation and stayed out 2 hours past the agreed charter.
Early in the day he put us on some snapper and shark out on a shipwreck and then took us to "the drop" or shelf after that. We had some first time fishers in the group and Rob was patient, explained the entire process, safety precautions and how to properly land the fish.
We had a few spearos in the group and before the day was done, Rob had us in the water shooting some beautiful fish at 40-50 feet. It's important to have a captain who can manage those on the boat and those in the water to make sure everyone is having fun but being safe...Rob is a seasoned vet all around.
Epic day - definitely chartering him again.

We spent an afternoon with Jeff Watson, our captain and fishing trip guide. Jeff did an excellent job of finding great spots where everyone held a rod and reel. We were six people and caught over 25 fish in the four hour time frame. Amongst the fish included an African pompano, porgies, red grouper, and prize winning mahi-mahi. We had enough food to feed 12 people for dinner that night.
The weather was beautiful, the seas were calm and Jeff did a great job of Finding great spots to catch a multitude of different creatures. I would recommend Ocean Safaris highly and suggest you give them a try if you are going to St. Thomas.

The 5 of us went on a chartered 1/2 day fishing outing with Spencer. We landed fish throughout the day, enjoyed the wonderful guidance and conversation Spencer offered, and ended the day with a 200 lb shark we hooked and released before heading back to port under a beautiful sky and sunset. A perfect outing.

Third time we have used Ocean Surfari and we did not catch much. Realize it is not a ‘given” that you will catch fish every time, but for that amount of money you want to catch some. With 5 grown men trying to catch you would think someone would catch something. Just small ones. OS is a great company, they have always been great to work with, just not sure about captains knowledge of good fishing areas. Would use again though.

Dates out - January 16th and 25th
We had so much fun on our private charter with Captain Josh, we went back out with another group and Captain Chris. Both days were memorable. They know their stuff, they know where the fish are and they know how to help you catch them.
For our group tour we had 8 people in the boat, all with varying levels of fishing knowledge, but Chris and Josh managed the chaos well. There were several times when 4-5 of us had one on the line at the same time.
We came home with snapper, Rainbow Runner, and others. Fish tacos tonight!

One of the highlights of our trip! Boat was fast, stable and comfortable. Pretty rough in the channel but on this boat we were still able to move around and dance/mingle as we watched the sky light up. Captain Chris nailed it telling us the sunset was going to be incredible and you would have thought this was the first sunset we’d ever seen, the colors were so unbelievable. Our family of 27 booked this charter to celebrate two engagements and my parents surviving a close call with COVID. The boat and crew easily accommodated our group and made it a special evening. I’m sure our family was a little overwhelming, but in the end the fun was pretty contagious! Thanks to Captain Chris and his crew for the hospitality.

We took a Sunday boat trip aboard the new power catamaran-Reef Surfari. So roomy, clean and comfortable. Your crew/bartender has a great expanse of a bar to work with to serve up the Painkillers and such. There’s snorkel gear included and ladders for easy access. Your captain and crew answer your questions, steer you clear of weather and locate the best enjoyment spots for your group. Our group went to Water Island. The Reef Surfari was able to beach and we didn’t even get our feet wet when we stepped off the boat. There is a hard cover over 75 % of the catamaran so there’s plenty of shade if needed and also keeps the pop up showers at bay. You’ll enjoy the smooth ride of this new vessel and the professionalism of this company. They never disappoint. A fun day will be had and you’ll have new memories to share.

Captain Jeff took our family (kids 14, 12, 12)on a 4 hour charter and we had a BLAST! He knew all the best places to fish and we caught a ton of fish. We felt safe and secure the whole time and Jeff was great with the kids explaining the fish species and distinguishing characteristics. The time flew by and if we did it again the only thing we would change is to make it longer.
