- Lovely, natural gardens - many varieties of flora, with magnolias and camellias to the fore - I really enjoyed the river walk to Arromanches plaque - We spent over 3 hours there but could have stayed longer - My wife's RHS membership gave her free entry - Only letdown was standard of scones in cafe ! Could do better... More

Just opened following the winter, this garden is at its best in the spring with camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons a speciality. Absolutely gorgeous on a sunny day.

It was the Mothering Sunday w/e and we were off to a Spring Gardens week long cruise down the River Seine, France so decided to visit this huge New Forest estate to get us in an appropriate mind set. There were lots of magnolia trees in bloom, vibrant C Amelia bushes and some white and yellow rhododendrons. The daffodil bulbs... More

This is my second trip to Exbury and both times I have been very dissapointed with the flowers and landscape. We took my parents who love private gardens and they both said that this was one of the least colourful and diverse they had been too. I think it is a lot of money for what it is which is... More

The gardens had only been open a day when we visited and we were delighted to find that there were so many plants in flower as it was only March. The gardens are dog friendly as is the restaurant as well which was brilliant as we worked up an appetite walking all the way around. I can recommend the fish... More

Went passed yesterday made a mental note to go back today and it was well worth the visit. It was good that there was a cafe before you entered and even in the off season there was somewhere to get refreshments inside. Went into the gardens and you can see spring is coming with the lovely meadow of daffodils and... More

We drove here from Bournemouth today having checked the opening times on the website. When we arrived there was a 'closed' sign outside but some cars in the car park and gates open so we went in. The menu board was outside the cafe and there were people inside however we couldn't see any sign of food. When a member... More

Hi there, Thank you for getting in touch about this. We are very sorry to hear that you traveled some distance to see us only to find us closed. All our literature and website has stated since the middle of last year that we re-opened on the 20th March so I'm sorry that you were mis-informed. I have thoroughly checked... More

We have been to Exbury Gardens a few times and we are always amazed at the vibrant colours from so many plants. They do a display every year of either plants from around the world or a painting gallery, where you can buy the ones you like. Every time you go there, there is always something new to see and... Well kept gardens with amazing Autumn colours. The garden and the different routes were well signposted. We had more difficulties negotiating the exit however! Highly recommended.

This is a review of the Exbury Gardens & Steam Railway "Christmas Postal Express" in December 2016. This is not a review for Exbury Gardens itself, which we know through past experience can be very nice at the time of year when all their rhododendrons are out. We did however feel thoroughly ripped off by their much advertised locally 'Christmas... More
