    Superb day on the farm!
Me and my daughter had a wonderful day exploring the War Horse farm. We spent a good 4 hours there, exploring the farm, feeding the animals, taking the tractor ride, enjoying a cuppa with a slice of cake whilst taking in the beautiful views. We also attempted the trail. The staff were very friendly. My 2 year old daughter did not want to leave. Hope to return again soon.

    Autism friendly 🙂
Despite the horrible weather (bad planning on my part!) me, my friends, our 5, 5, & 10 year olds had a great day with lots to do! Lots of different farm animals to feed, stroke, brush, and check for eggs! The kids loved the tractor ride to see all the sheep with their babies and got to bottle feed some lambs afterwards. The cafe was a lovely little place with delicious cakes. My son is high needs autistic and can be quite loud and messy, but the owners were so patient with him and wonderfully friendly - Even when my son was noisy during the information bits and having a small meltdown when leaving his favourite animals (donkeys!) to see the rest. We will certainly be returning in the summer to see the farm in its full beauty and would definitely recommend it as an autism friendly day out.

    Lovely trip to the farm
Wonderful place - Graham was working so hard in terrible weather, but we had a great time. Opportunity to bottle feed the lambs and groom the donkeys. Super friendly Alpacas and goats and all the animals and birds well cared for. It is a working farm and we enjoyed a trailer ride across the fields to watch the sheep dog rounding up the sheep which was interesting. The museum and trench were well put together and informative. We didn’t sample the cream teas but hope to return!

A fantastic day, kids loved it. Fed alpacas, played games in the barn, boys loved the ww1 trench. The tractor ride was very informative and the ice-cream was delicious. Children 7,9 and 13. All were worn out at the end of the day

    Perfect family afternoon
Everything you need here for a fun but relaxing family afternoon out. Nature trail, WWI and War Horse museum, LOADS of animals to feed and pet, great tractor ride, WWI trench, lovely cream tea, a couple of little play areas, gorgeous countryside...the best thing though is that's it's low key, quiet, not commercialised or gimmicky, just a purely authentic farm / history / literary visit. Will definitely come back.

    Great family day out.
Amazing great value day out for all ages. So much to see and do and a great way to learn about the War Horse story. Our children loved all the animals especially feeding the alpacas and grooming the donkeys, playing in the play barn and the older generation were fascinated by the museum and the story behind War Horse. There is a lovely walk around the farm just right for the family. Graham, the owner, went out of his way to make our day so enjoyable especially as we turned up on a day that the farm was closed!

Beautiful family farm day, just like those in your childhood books
Absolutely beautiful traditional Devon farm, idylic and just amazing. There is so much to see and we go every year and there's more to see. The owners are so friendly and passionate about the environment, animals and farming. The Devon tea is lovely but my favourite moment has to be watching a baby donkey being born, in fact the farmer ran out into the car park to herd everyone up into the barn to watch it amazing. The cow safari is just something else. I love relaxing with a brew and watching the kids play games on the lawn with stunning views and animals. The nature trail is beautiful and well worth exploring the fields and woodlands.

    Amazing experience!
This is just the most amazing place! We had a fabulous time. So much to see and do. The museum is wonderful, there is so much information about World War I and the horses that were taken into battle. The trench was superb, especially with the sound effects playing as you walked around, gave a real feel for what it must have been like for the troops and the conditions they had to endure. Made me feel very thankful for all those men who fought and gave their lives. My absolute favourite part was seeing the donkeys and their foals, amazing to be able to go inside the stable and actually groom them, they are so friendly and beautiful and I shall cherish this experience ... can't wait to go back next year! The trailer ride was also superb. The farmer is so knowledgeable and shared a great deal of information while driving round the farm. Tea room was lovely, cream tea was delicious abd the best we have had this year. Such a lovely day for a very small price. Thank you so much and look forward to next time.

    Love this place.
Our 3rd time visiting and it seemed better than ever. My 2 teenage daughters loved feeding the lambs and fussing the baby donkeys and goats, as well as all the other animals. The trailer ride is always fun and we enjoyed trying fruit growing in the orchard. A few new additions since we last visited and it's such good value for money.

    Amazing, Great Value for Money!
This place is good value for money, I don’t normally go to farms but this place was very interesting. There is lots to see - animals (alpacas, donkeys, goats, rabbits, cows, sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens), First World War trench, trail and museum. Also lots to do - feed the animals, go on a tractor ride to see the farm fields, play snooker, air hockey, table tennis, golf putt and football. The tearoom has some tasty cakes, and average price. Loved seeing and listening to the history of the farm as well as the story behind War Horse. It is hidden away but it has a lot to do for how small the farm is. All the family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, we stayed from opening (2pm) till closing (6pm). If we’re in the area again will definitely go again!

What a fantastic place! We visited with our children aged 13, 11 and 9. We all had a great time. The children found the museum really interesting, they loved the trail and all the animals.
The farmer is absolutely fantastic and really educates everybody in a fun and hands on way. We all learnt lots on the tractor ride (this is a must) and the calves were adorable.
We felt very safe with all the handwashing and sanitisers. There is a one way system in place in the tea room.
Wonderful and great value afternoon out.

This was an unexpectedly brilliant couple of hours, on our way home from north Devon. We would have stayed much longer if we weren’t rushing back for tea. There was SO much to do and it felt so safe, the children loved exploring. The views were amazing and there was some history thrown in too. I really couldn’t fault the attraction and would certainly recommend to others - just allow yourself a good three hours to make the most of it😄

We had a lovely afternoon on the farm today, it was great to have such an authentic experience and to be welcomed onto a working farm so openly. Wellies needed all round for the best experience (as you’d expect!) and we popped our little girl (7months) in a sling as pushchairs would be difficult.
Seeing a working farm dog in action was brilliant and our little boy (3) was fascinated.
We fed the alpacas, bottle fed two lovely lambs, hunted for eggs, stroked the calves and completed the trail around the farm which was really scenic. The highlight for our three year old was the tractor trailer ride and getting up close to a real life tractor!
The museum on WW1 and War Horse was well put together with lots of interesting artefacts- we hadn’t seen War Horse but we watched it as soon as we got home!
I’d recommend anybody in the area to spend an afternoon here.

This is a brilliant place to visit especially with children of primary age or even younger. There was a lot to see and do and many hands on experiences to try.

What was particularly good was the tractor ride with Graham the farmer. He really brought the farm to life and explained why traditional farming methods are still so valuable to us and to the environment.

Our 8 and 6 year old grand children were chatting about it all the way home and even as they settled for bed.

The admission price is very fair and you will be hard pressed to find a better way to spend an afternoon in Devon. We had a memorable experience, great fun and informative.

This was a great place to visit for the afternoon, the entry price was very reasonable for the facilities available. But some of the attractions are a bit threadbare. The animals look well maintained. It has been great to visit the inspiration for Michael Morpurgo’s war horse. Enjoyed the larger tractor peddle go carts. All in all a good visit.

We had a few hours before we could check into our B&B so popped in here as it was just down the road. BEST DECISION!!

Our 2 year old loved the animals, especially the very friendly sheep and loved being up close to them. Feeding them was a great experience for all of us - we're country dwellers so are very used to farm visits but it was a real joy to be able to get up close to them with out little girl with no fear that she'd get squashed or bitten! A really safe and exciting environment.

The small play area was a real hit too and she was more than happy with the slide, swings and little wendy house.

The tractor ride was more than we expected - I was anticipating a trundle around a field (which would have been AWESOME for our little one) but to be taken out into other fields and put amongst a herd of cattle was fantastic. The farmer was really knowledgeable (my husband comes from a dairy farming family and was agreeing with everything he said) and made it interesting for the kids. We also loved watching his dog herd the cows.

We didn't get to the museum or WW1 exhibits as our little one was having too much fun everywhere else but they looked really comprehensive.

Great value. Great 'real' experience. Perfect for kids.

I highly recommend visiting war horse country valley park if you are into animals/farm experience. The alpaca walk is superb, I would bring Wellington boots for this. You can also enjoy cream tea after your walk in the tea room. The hosts are very friendly and I have thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay here. I would definitely come back time and time again. Visitor from Kent.

Amazing! We had such a fun and educational time!
We arrived not long after opening and stayed till closing. There was plenty to do, so brilliant value for money. The tractor ride was great, the driver was brilliant with the kids and taught them so much about farming and dairy farming. The Dog rounding the cattle up was the icing on the cake.
My phone older son enjoyed the ww1 bunker and the play area, and my younger son really enjoyed the tractor ride and the animals. We enjoyed the cafe and the warm welcome by those working at war horse farm.
Thank you for a lovely day.
Will definitely be back!

We stopped off here with our youngest boys age 3 and 7, not sure what to expect apart from war horses. Well there aren't many war horses (there's 1!) but it was great value nonetheless. The WW1 trench was interesting, loads of well looked after animals without having to walk far, donkey grooming was lovely, and the cafe has a nice play area, pretty garden and piglets to entertain. We really enjoyed the tractor ride, it was bumpy but travelled far and very informative talk from the owner. Recommend as a quick trip on a sunny day for young families.
