I have just had a brilliant week on the Monmouth and Brecon canal with my husband and our friends. The folk at ABC Boats Goytre Wharf were so friendly and professional. The boat was well presented and gave us everything we needed. At the end of the week I visited the shop where there was a wide range of gifts... More

Lovely location for a visit. Great for dog walkers or just walkers. Plenty to see. Loads of parking available for a small charge. Woodland walks. Canalside walks.

Visited here for the first time with family. £1 to park all day. There are plenty of vsiitor boards with maps of circular walks - so we headed off through the woods. The children loved running around and visiting all the culptures and hides and spotting all the animal plaques. Their imagination was really stimulated. They especially enjoyed the witches... More

This a beautiful location with some amazing scenery. There are plenty of walks along the canal and so many boats to see, there is also an Avery near the boat center with some very pretty birds in . There's cafe and shop where I managed to have a bite to eat and a lovely ice-cream. Boat hire is a must, there's... More

Spent a lovely couple of hours here on the weekend getting some much needed fresh air. Nice little trail to follow that is suitable for young children as its not to steep or long, takes you through the woods and along the canal then along to a lovely little cafe at the end. Various sculptures to spot dotted in the... More

We love coming here with our dogs for a walk and then visiting the cafe. Always lots to see including the boats, birds, waterside houses and beautiful scenery. Interesting historical site with information boards. On our last visit the cafe was busy after Christmas but fast service, had fab hot chocolate and toasted teacake - perfect.

Once you arrive and pay the £1 all day parking where there are plenty of spaces it is a lovely walk along the canal. The visitor centre is a bit basic but tells you enough. The cafe is a good place to get a break and have a rest. Just make sure the weather is good

We stayed at Aquaduct Cottage for one week in September and had a great time. The cottage has been restored and is very cosy. Most important for us it is dog-friendly, with an enclosed garden, but the entire site is fairly quiet and safe for a run around. Its a good area for walking, the tow path along the canal... More

We visited the wharf for a canal side walk. Very peaceful & pretty. We missed the cafe it was closed but we stopped to read about the industrial past which fitted in with our trip to Blaenavon. We walked through the woods & I didn't notice dogs mess as other reviewer so perhaps this had been resolved? It was a... More
