About
Helen and Joey Cellar Door is located in our sleek new venue, Re’em Yarra Valley. Our bright and airy cellar door is a fabulous setting for swilling and sipping through our estate grown and made wines. For those wanting to experience the inner-workings of the winery more intimately, the downstairs tasting room will allow all to sample Helen & Joey’s handmade premium wine amongst the impressive oak barrels. Descending the art deco staircase, guests are greeted by a garden of ferns and custom-design art installation, from Melbourne glass-artist Mark Douglas, which leads on to the 12-seat private tasting room.

It was very busy when we arrived. It took a long time before we were served and taken over to another table for a tasting. We were served hapharzardly over a long period of time (even after it got quieter with fewer people about) without a reference sheet to see what we were tasting. The amount served for each tasting was miniscule - I would say a tablespoon which was not enough to get a proper taste. I was disgusted at the small amount despite paying a tasting fee.
The only good thing apart from some of the wine was the view.

The deck was full of several large parties of yelling drunk people. Incredibly unpleasant experience. Not recommend whatsoever as a relaxing winery despite beautiful views. Lowlight was a young woman sculling dessert wine from the bottle whilst filming herself swearing. One star.

Reading the reviews we thought we would try this place out as it is one of the wineries we had not visited in the Yarra Valley. I am not sure if it was just a bad day for them but while the views are good, the place is a bit 'tired', the platters for lunch a bit average for the price, and the 2 glasses of white wine we had with them were only vaguely cold. Not an ideal experience and a bit disappointing. We don't usually do poor reviews but felt there was something missing here.

I came here yesterday with a group of friends as part of a private winery tour. After arriving we were shown to a large table where we started a tasting, however one of the staff members then came over and started having a go at me for not making a booking. It was embarrassing and so unnecessary - it wasn’t that busy and if they couldn’t accommodate he should have just said so and we would have gone elsewhere. Plus nowhere on the website does it say you need to book. Definitely not going there again when there are plenty of other fantastic, friendly places in the Yarra Valley.

Wine tasting in Australia is one of the top things to do whenever I go to Australia. Not only because I love wine but looking out to the wineries’ landscapes always make me joyful.

Helen and Joey has definitely one of the best of everything. Their reputation for artisan kind of good wines, options of bites in between your wine sips, beautiful sunset, and great staff who are super friendly and knowledgeable about their wines.

My fave is of course, their port wine 🍷

Totally recommended!!

We arrived at Helen & Joey's Estate at 10 am on a Sunday to sit and soak in the views with a coffee and a cheese platter. 3 hours later, we moved on to a wine tasting. What a delightful setting, panoramic views, knowledgeable and super friendly staff, serving boutique wines with a light range of platters and cakes. Perfect time spent.

We loved our wine tasting here. The lady who served us was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The winery has a beautiful outdoor area to sit in with expansive views over the Yarra Valley.
I was impressed by the wines and bought a lovely Leylah Chardonnay.

If doing a winery tour, don't miss this one.
