Since opening in May 2007, the Suffolk Food Hall quickly established itself as an exemplar for local food. The business was started by Suffolk farmers who became frustrated that friends often had limited access to much of the fresh and locally produced food. The Food Hall brings together all that is good about Suffolk and has a wide selection of delicacies, including an artisan bakery, full traditional butcher's shop, fishmonger, delicatessen and much more. Suffolk Food Hall has been judged in 2014 by the national farm shop association, FARMA, to have the Best on farm Restaurant in Britain and in 2012 the late Clarissa Dixon Wright and her panel made it the be the Best Local Food Venue in the UK and Ireland. The Cookhouse Restaurant specialises in traditional British cuisine with a contemporary twist. Focusing on seasonal recipes, it is a unique place to eat or have a drink whilst enjoying stunning views down the River Orwell.

We had such a great day here. considering it was a fairly small event, i was really impressed. The food hall burgers were so yummy. We really enjoyed the lice music too. A great family day.

This remains a lovely venue, particularly on a sunny day with young children. However, it continues to be let down by the time delays. I have just waited 32 minutes for two lattes. Yes it's busy but there doesn't seem to be any organisation.

This restaurant is in a spectacular location overlooking the river Orwell almost under the Orwell Bridge! It was quite noisy for us to chat because of the size or the dining area and lots of other people chatting and of course children as well. Definitely,...More

The Suffolk Food Hall was a holiday find a few years ago. If it were closer to home we would visit slightly more often. Today, en route somewhere else, we took a 10 mile detour. We headed for the bread and cheese. We usually start...More

Wanted breakfast after being let down by the butt and oyster but dogs not allowed in the cookhouse which is the only place they serve breakfast. So we ended up having a cheese toasted and a coffee at the cafe sitting outside listening to the...More
