    Stunning gardens
The gardens are absolutely stunning and the wild flower meadow is beautiful. It was lovely to look at the sculptures that are dotted around the gardens at the moment too. We saw deer in the park and also had a look around the church which is a short stroll from the gardens. The setting for the hall is very peaceful. We had a coffee and sausage roll, which were delicious and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend a visit.

    Well worth a visit
Superb gardens and excellent helpful staff. The sculptures on display at the time of our visit were fun and interesting. The cafe had a good seletion of reasonably priced food and drinks. Highly recommended

    Good day out
Nice easy estate to walk around. The day we went also still had the sculpture trail some very good items some less so but still very interesting. Lunch was excellent with very imaginative toasted sandwiches. Place is very dog friendly with dogs seemingly allowed everywhere.

    A real gem
Fabulous gardens with plenty of areas to explore. The sculpture trail was an added bonus as it gives you another reason to see more areas, and it is always fun guessing the prices . We must have seen at least 100 walled gardens around Britain in many years of sightseeing- this one just might be the best we have seen- amazing display of colourful flowers with hundreds of varieties dotted around (well, more skilfully than just dotted around, really). The vegetable areas were also decorative and there will be a great display of pumpkins and gourds later in the season, with so many types currently growing up a 100 foot long metal archway Don't miss Wrights cafe- 5 star food on offer.

    Excellent garden half day visit.
Very reasonable entry fee for 2 hours strolling around garden. Garden is full, creative and full of inspiration. It's maintained to a high standard and this summer has a wonderful sculptures exhibition of 300 pieces. The food is excellent and served quickly.

Lovely gardens. Cafe customer service disappointing
Gardens lovely as usual. Disappointed with the service in the new cafe. We had ordered 2 cold drinks with our food. After they hadn't arrived I asked a young passing waitress who informed me they'd be on there way. She obviously didn't check (needs more training) as after a few more minutes I went to ask at the counter. They couldn't find our order but said they'd bring them over, which they did. But the drinks were just put down with no apology for the mistake. I wasn't worried about money off but did expect an apology - simple customer service really! Food was tasty, sausage roll delicious but I found the open sandwich of smoked mackerel a bit salty for my taste. My husband had short rib sandwich which he enjoyed. Seemed a bit expensive for just a sandwich though without even a little salad garnish/crisps. We'd go to gardens again but eat at home or elsewhere first.

    Wonderful gardens and sculpture trail
Didn’t know what to expect.. as NT members we usually visit National Trust properties when on holiday. This is a wonderful garden, enhanced by the current sculpture trail. Great cafe with helpful staff. Some Interesting shops and plants for sale. Had a chat with some of the gardeners who answered our questions about the plants. Can’t believe that there are only 3 full time gardeners to tend the wonderful garden. Leave plenty of time to relax in the garden and spot the deer. Dogs on leads are welcome.

    Better than NT gardens
Amazing garden with interesting history, so many different features to admire, the box had just been cut when we visited and looked stunning. The vegetable garden is productive and the planting imaginative so lots of tips to take home for gardeners. The charity sculpture trail just added to the enjoyment. The Courtyard cafe serves healthy and unusual lunches and gluten free cakes. Very reasonable entry fee for all that is on offer compared to similar but inferior National Trust properties.

    Another lovely day
This was the second visit to Helmingham Hall this year. This time to to attend the Autumn plant fair, which seems to get better and better each year. Really enjoyed the plant talks and the music as well as exploring the array of plant and craft stalls. The walled garden was outstandingly beautiful again. Lots of annual flowers adding to the colourful mix of late summer planting - dahlias, sunflowers, gourds, calendulas .....it was really inspiring. All in all, a lovely day out.

Just got back from a lovely few hours at Helmingham. We are fairly local so go there quite a lot. Gardens seemed to be much tidier than on past visits and some paths have been renewed and others created so that you will be able to get right in among the plants later in the season.
The only thing that took the shine off were the prices in the café. £8 for a ham and pickle open sandwich that was half a panini, measuring about 6x3 inches and not thick, with a very tasty topping but not much of it due to the small base! It looked very lonely on the plate without even a few crisps or a bit of salad to keep it company. We understand that prices have risen and we don't mind paying them but did feel ripped off on this occasion. A shame because the café used to be a bit more down to earth, serving good wholesome fare at reasonable prices. We'll probably take a picnic next time!

We've been several times before in Summer, but I have to say that the Illuminated Garden Trail is very well worth a visit in Winter. We were impressed by the imaginative use of lights of all types and a magical effect of the reflections on the moat. It took us about an hour and a half to go around...including stopping for the included (but rather small) cup of mulled wine. We all bought the optional S'mores, which were sticky but fun! I wasn't quite sure what expect when I booked 6 tickers as a birthday surprise but we all agreed it was an excellent visit and would wholly recommend it.

We went to see the Christmas illumination at the hall. This is our 3rd year and once again it was magical. We were given vouchers for mulled wine or a non alcoholic version only disappointment was that the children weren’t given a voucher. I would have thought they should be offered a drink as we paid for them.

Magical illuminated Christmas trail!
We visited here last night, all 7 humans and 4 dogs in our family! We were made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Whoever put it together has done a great job. Absolutely beautiful with lots of ‘wow’ moments.

We had wanted to visit the gardens for some time and were looking forward to our trip.
On arrival we had coffee which was very nice and came with good service.
As we started our tour, I was sad to see the moat looking unkept. The walled gaden was pretty but was very disappointed by the rest of the gardens. What little gardens there were, were unloved, scruffy and sad.
I wouldn't return.
