My family and I have been visiting Ireland for more than 20 years. We knew a bit about our roots but with my dad getting older we decided to finally explore more of our history. Seán and his daughter Aisling were incredible---holding my hand every step of the way. With COVID still being an issue, we opted for the self drive. We had the exact eircodes to get us to the family farm that is more than 155 years old. The comprehensive book My Ireland Heritage put together for my family is beautiful. It includes not only my family history but County Mayo and key moments of Irish history during the time my family lived in the country. It's a little bit like a Netflix series gone wild. It's hard not to be moved by the experience and to share it with my father who is 2nd Generation American was something I will forever cherish. Seán's love for Ireland and for his work comes across in the research. I feel truly blessed.

After years of searching for the Donnellan and Garvin family connection in Ireland, My Ireland Heritage gave us the family we were looking for. Judy's Donnellan family came to the States in 1891, her grandfather being the first to be born here. Very little was known about the family in Ireland. Sean, Aisling, and Ian opened our eyes to a great new vision of our family! Aisling worked closely with us during the pre-trip process and she was a delight. Sean was increadibly knowledgeable of Irish history and that of our family. We spent the first two days with Sean visiting Dublin, Rathfarnham (visiting the church Judy's great grandparents were married), Willbrook (where the family mill was and where the family lived), and Naas (seeing the church the family attended). Sean also brought us to Newgrange to see a 5,200 year old Neolithic site. Wow, what history! We also spent two days with Ian. Amazing travels visiting Kilkenny Castle, the Black Abbey, Roscommon (which included a visit to Elphin where the Donnellans are from and gravesites of the Donnellans. We had sooo much fun and learned so much. We used Trim as our base which worked perfectly and would highly recommend the same to all. Stayed at the Trim Castle Hotel, great, and right across the street from Trim Castle. We want to express our great appreciation to Sean, Ian, and Aisling for giving us an incredible week! We came to Ireland not knowing anyone and left with three new friends! If you are planning a trip to Ireland or need genealogy assistance My Ireland Heritage is a Platinum Standard!

I decided to reach out to My Ireland Heritage Tours after reading a reference to the Tours in Rick Steves' Ireland Guide and researching Trip Advisor and other reviews online. I have been curious about my Grandfather's childhood in Ireland. He died before I had a chance to talk to him about his Irish experiences, and it took me fifty years before I finally got to visit the country. I had only anecdotes with a few nicknames and a stray picture or two when I began to explore who and where my family was. I contacted My Ireland Heritage Tours and manager Aisling could not have been more kind, professional, and helpful as we corresponded via email and she guided me to provide the information necessary for her staff to embark upon an extensive, thoroughly documented analysis of my heritage. My own Irish ancestry presented several challenges involving sudden deaths, tragic rates of infant mortality, a widow's remarriage to a man with the same surname but who was not (directly?) related to the first husband, the necessity for a special church dispensation and other drama that could not be anticipated. Aisling, Ian and Sean handled it all with grace and joyful enthusiasm. They accommodated my travel plans completely. Ian met me early upon my arrival at Dublin Airport, drove me toward my family's Townland (with a moving pause at the Famine Museum along the way), and began the tour with a meeting of the Priest at my family's parish. I stood inside the church where my Grandfather worshiped, I touched the baptismal font used for his baptism, and I befriended the Priest who would later agree to help me review additional church records. There were several more special moments (finding family cemetery plots, tracing the farmlands of extended family, and talking with people who knew my family and were contacted about my visit in advance) but one moment was particularly breathtaking: because of Ian's advance work, we confirmed that a farmhouse on a hillside was family property, and we felt encouraged to visit. When we reached the farmhouse, we discovered my family's original stone cottage perfectly preserved, behind the farmhouse and out of sight from the road below. My Grandfather was born and raised there. I am still awestruck by this moment. Ian devoted extra time to my tour because of unexpected family leads that developed, and he was kind and patient and professional every step of the way on the tour. The information I obtained from my tour has led to multiple new family contacts and correspondences already, and I am thrilled to pursue the opportunities for new relationships and friendships that my tour has made possible. The staff adds sweet personal touches and surprises, and honors the sacred aspects of a person's heritage journey. I recommend the experience wholeheartedly.

This was definitely the high point of all of my visits to Ireland. I went with Ian, who was willing to take me to the Cork countryside from Dublin and I had just a truly amazing day. Have pursued family genealogy since the 1970’s with many trips rambling around finding little about my great grandfather, who we only knew was from “ County Cork” and a DOB. I contacted Aisling, Sean worked with records which were not available to me, called me very excited that they actually could bring me to the spot where the family lived in the 1800’s and was able to find a few generations back, including the wedding and names of my gg grandfather and mother which I had never discovered. About a week before my trip, Ian went out to the area, on reconnaissance, and found the family church, coordinated with the church secretary so on the day, he was able to make sure that the family church was open and I was able to actually see the physical parish registers from the 1820-1860’s ( they keep them in a safe and rarely allow visitors to see them), take me to the graveyards and through the countryside. He tried, but was unable to contact any current family. He also found where the house/property stood, as advertised. Day of visit, Ian and I drove from Dublin to Cork, talking about ancient to modern Irish history all the way. Based on data Seán had collected as well as antique and modern maps and Ian’s history knowledge, I was finally able to get answers about the family life and possible emigration reasons. He also coordinated some other places that I wanted to see, that he had not checked out in advance, talking to the locals who owned property to let us pass through. This was definitely a one of a kind very personalized tour. It seemed as though Ian was as excited as I was to discover this history. They truly are a family business, and it shows. I can’t thank Aisling, Sean, and especially Ian for such a wonderful experience.

This was an incredible experience. The care and dedication that the entire family put into our visit was unbelievable. Not only did we get to see many landmarks related to our family, but we left feeling we had made another family friend. I'm the genealogist and the one that had really wanted this trip - my husband "tagged along" too. But since our trip, neither my husband nor I can stop talking about it. Normally, I would say this is a "once in a lifetime opportunity", but I have to go back now to explore another side of the family. We'll be in touch, Sean and Aisling. Thanks so much!!
