Lucksall caravan site
Sep 2020 • Couples
This is a wonderful site which is kept spotlessly clean and in tip top condition all season long. The owners and staff are all very pleasant and always on hand if required.
The walks along the river Wye are full of wildlife and stunning scenery, a dog walkers dream.

Excellent value for money

Lovely helpful staff, excellent site. Toilets and shower blocks are immaculate. The grass area's are better than most lawns, the staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble and they are always out working.

On a par with European Sites
Oct 2020 • Couples
A park that compares with European sites! After lockdown we have toured in the UK staying at a mixture of club and private sites. This is clearly the best we’ve stayed at this year for a number of reasons: the location in the Wye Valley is exceptional, the park is immaculate, the pitches are larger than normal with imaginative planting separating many of them, the shop is well stocked with fresh bread every day, the bar keeps local beers and ciders, the restaurant is of a high standard using local produce. In common with club sites the three toilet blocks are clean and the staff very friendly and welcoming, social distancing is maintained to the highest standards. The showers are probably in need of updating but with constant hot water are at least as good as any others we’ve used this year!
Camping in the UK grew in parts from the scouting movement and many still enjoy that Spartan approach; however for those of us who prefer a more comfortable European style of camping this is a site for you!

Another most enjoyable stay at Lucksalls
Aug 2020
We've only been going to Lucksalls for a couple of years but it quickly elevated itself to one of our favorite caravan sites. Its a big site but with the way it is laid out it never feels like it is. Its also a busy site but again, never really feels like its. Facilities are good and clean even if some are a little aging. Staff are spot on and cannot do enough for you. The shop is handy and the food from the cafe wonderful. We generally choose a pitch on the riverside which are huge. The only reason for a 4* rather than a 5* is that you are asked to set up in the middle of your space but it is not policed. We have had people set up inches from the edge of their pitch thereby reducing the both the fire and noise gap. There are fantastic woodland and riverside walks directly from the campsite. Check out the lovely church and adjacent riverside walks at Holme Lacy - very interesting local history. Hereford is a lovely city with its splendid cathedral, riverside walks and independent shops and only a 15 minute beautiful drive away. Oh, forgot to mention, because we don't have one, Lucksalls is very dog friendly as well!

Superb site
Sep 2020
Superb site! We've just returned from 5 nights staying at Lucksall and felt compelled to say how fantastic it is!
The whole site is kept immaculately, think golf course levels of neat! It's a really big site, but it doesn't feel like it is as it's really well set out. We were on the grass field which is clearly set out and perfectly maintained.
There are spotless toilets, showers and vanity rooms, all heated which was very welcome as Autumn arrived with a bang this week. Ample spaces for washing up too all well lit and under cover. Apparently there's also a laundry room with freezers but I had no need to locate them.
There's a well stocked shop and a lovely little cafe/restuarant with a bar right on the river, we ate there one evening and the food and service were both excellent.
We took our own kayaks, access to the water was easy enough and the river Wye is just stunning! There are lots of places you can paddle to or from (we parked at Tresseck Campsite, cabbed back to Lucksall and then paddled down to the car, a glorious way to spend an afternoon!)
The staff were all v friendly and accommodating, COVID measures mean you don't need to get out of the car to check in and there's plenty of hand sanitiser etc around the site.
I can imagine in the season it's a very popular and busy place to be, it was fairly empty on Thursday but by Friday evening a lot of people had arrived. However there's plenty of room and the pitches are well spaced. We're lucky enough to be able to visit out of school holidays so if you like it a little quieter it's perfect.

We had a great stay, we'll definitely be back :)

Excellent campsite
Sep 2020
Fabulous campsite, the staff are very friendly and attentive and ensure the park is kept beautifully. We have been camping at Lucksall for a number of years now and this weekend spent 2 nights in one of their pods. Very clean, cosy and warm. There are plenty of staff on hand if you need anything. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The on site cafe is very good with a fab selection of ciders/beers with very friendly staff who serve you, food is good too. The location is outstanding right on the banks of the River Wye with swans and ducks wandering around. No late night noise and the stars are simply amazing. The shower blocks are kept very clean with the choice of 3 of them so never need to wait. Canoe hire available although we didn't do that this time. A really fab camp site in a beautiful location. We will be back.

A nice surprise
Sep 2020
This is a review for the Riverside Cafe at the Lucksall Caravan Park rather than the Caravan Park itself.

Seems a strange place to stop for lunch while visiting the area but with so many other places closed it was a godsend. It was also very welcoming and the staff extremely friendly.

They have worked out a sensible system of one way and social distancing and there is also lots of outdoor space (more than I realised at first as some is tucked away behind the building).

The meal choices too were wider than I would have expected and everything our group chose (including several vegetarians and vegans) was well catered for

Fantastic facilities, great location and very clean
Sep 2020 • Family
We met up with friends who also have children under the age of 6. The site is exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location by the River Wye where we easily launched our kayaks for some paddling. We’d definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic
Aug 2020
the Lucksall caravan park is superb.we were welcomed by the lovely Laura and found our level sheltered pitch easily. the way the site was organised gave protection from the worst of the rain and wind. the staff especially james in his Club car were informative and helpful at all times. Excellent toilet blocks, clean and cleaned every day also had piped music.
On our final day we met the owner who was welcoming incoming guests and saying goodbye to outgoing outfits. Briiliant persoanal touch. We tries the cafe/restaurant as well with a loverly Scottish lady serving up a fantastic Bacon Butty in toasted buns.probably the best bun Ive ever had.
A wonderful ite on the banks of the River Wye with every amenity. We will be back .
