We had an official visit arranged for the following day so my wife needed a 'reccy' to check how far it was and facilities offered. Beautiful stately home to impress on arrival. Adequate parking- usual gift shop and cafe. Entrance fee seemed a little high but afternoon tea in the outside area set in a good mood for the next... More

Lovely place to visit. House is extremely interesting. If that's not your thing then there are large grounds both formal gardens and less formal areas for kids to run around.

I'm lucky enough to live fairly close to Burton Constable and I visited with my 2 young children (age 4 and a baby) for the afternoon. There is a quiz for the parkland and the house for children, which my 4yr old thoroughly enjoyed doing. The room guides were happy to help her and answer any questions she had. There... More

A good day out for the family. We have been to many stately homes and this is one of the better ones. Yes, it has all the impressive rooms, with enthusiastic staff able to give us information. What really fascinated me, as I have worked in science for all my working life was the room with all the various old... More

The combination of the Hall, the parkland, the restaurant, the stables makes for a full and interesting day out. The Hall is just stunning - not just an old decaying remnant, this is an amazingly preserved building full of fascinating exhibits that tell the story of this estate and its family. The guides (volunteers) are not pushy but happy to... More

Heard about the house through a friend, otherwise I would have never known about this lovely attraction. Unusually (compared to National Trust houses), the house's contents are original rather than items chosen to 'set the scene'. Whilst the building has understandably suffered some damage over the years - for example, the usual leaking roofs, the fact that the wallpaper etc.... More

Took our pets out for the day to this lovely stately home and ajoining country caravan park and lake. It only cost 50 pence for each of us a bargain and we went through for a lovely walk down by the bridge and a chat with locals fishing in the lake who caught Birch. We had a drink in their... More
