A beautiful place
Jul 2020 • Family
Brilliant day at the pond. Staff and other people using facilities were all very friendly and chatty. Social distancing managed perfectly. Highly recommend.

Family trip

This is set in a beautiful valley in wales, amazing scenery..lots of trails for bikes, walks, refreshments on hand with welcoming people. There is also a camping site for those who wish to stay, even in the windy rainy weather this place is very calming and beautiful atmosphere to be in. Will be revisiting again..🧡

Classic Welsh trail centre

Been coming here for years. Some changes over time, but still an access point to some of the best trails anywhere!

Great outdoor adventure
Nov 2018
Glyncorrwg is a lovely mining village and the villagers are friendly. The mountain bike centre is great, good food at a very reasonable price. There are three large ponds and one is full of fish, I believe salmon and trout. There is always a few people gish8nb and they are big.

The cycle tracks are amazing and even if you walk the views are fantastic.

Well worth a visit.

Great place for mid ride munchies
Jan 2017 • Friends
The cafe in the centre is geared up for hungry cyclists and walkers. The food is typical cafe fare but so so filling. Order toast and you get a doorstop of fresh cut bread, topped with you choice of munchy , mine was poached egg, it makes a filling bite and is very competitively priced.. The centre is very popular with mountain bikers using the local routes but the center also sits nicely on a national cycle route coming up from Port Talbot so is a fairly easy ride to get there.

This site is great for hardened mountain bikers but not for us. We took our bikes which was fine for us on the flat routes but the site was disappointing. I had to shower in flip flops as they were really grubby and I don't think either showers or toilets were cleaned the whole time we were there. We were also unaware of there only being one road in, there was a really sharp turn that we knew about but didn't realise there was a really sharp hair pin bend on a very steep road. We had sleepless nights worrying whether we would make it back up the hill towing our van. In the end we set off at 6.30 am to hopefully make sure there was no traffic coming down the hill as we were going up. Luckily we made it.

Great centre and friendly staff
Aug 2016 • Solo
Rode Blade early doors, getting back in time for the cafe to open. First time on Blade - brilliant, but the climb out from the centre is horrendous/awesome depending on your fitness and technical ability! Rest of trail was great, particularly Helter Skelter and Holey Cokey / Joyrider. Back at the centre, all the staff were really friendly, bike wash was good value, and cafe provided the best mug of tea ever (along with a flapjack that would have fed three!!!!). Showers were free, very clean and with enough space to stash your clean and dirty kit without it getting wet; more importantly, they were hot. The only negative to the centre is the number of midges - then again, they do encourage you to get ready quickly and get riding!

As the title says, a great centre with friendly staff and access to a whole pile of great trails and riding.

Fly fishing at its best
Jul 2016 • Friends
I am a regular at this venue. I love dry fly fishing, and whatever time of the year you visit, there are fish taking off the top. Its not always easy to catch, but I wouldnt want it to be. The quality of the fish is excellent, and its always well stocked..Leigh, at the lodge will give you up to date advice on fishing. The place is welcoming, and in a beatiful steep sided valley. The wind can be a problem when it blows down the valley, and although I only live 12 miles away, I've often found the conditions very different to where I live, mainly owing to the mountains around the lake. So always take clothing for alternative conditions, or you may be caught out. The Lodge is qite large and there are facilities there for a hot meal. Regards the fishing, you can only pay with cash, and watch out for fishing times. My favourite fly for subserface is diawl bach, and for dry fly....well...you will have to match the hatch....as they say. Give it atry, you will not regret it.
